Outstanding!
Outstanding really does sum up the quality and professionalism I experienced on Saturday night. The signs it was going to be one hell of a night started before we even got into the club, whilst walking up York with my mates on route to the club, at least 5 different people asked us for directions to Canvas, which is alwyas a good sign!!

Upon reaching the club we were greeted by friendly cheery bouncers who even had a bit of a laugh and a joke with us searched us quickly and without fuss and we were inside before we knew it, in fact they were actually encouraging people to head inside quickly, which is rare in this day and age as half the time they seem to be intent on keeping you outside as long as possible! I was chuffed to bits on getting inside to see the club was already packed, and it was only 11pm! everywhere I looked there seemed to be friendly faces and happy chatting people, the dancefloor was also already full, which is rare at that time of night and especially in a club the size of Canvas. I have to say that re-fitting the inside of the club has done wonders for canvas as a venue, it did tend to have a bit of a warehousey feel to it, and it was difficult to make the main room seem full, even if it was rammed. There was no CHANCE of that being a problem on Saturday NO CHANCE at all, as that main room was packed!!

I didnt make it onto the dancefloor myself until 1am as there were so many lovely people there I ended up chatting and making new friends til then, but I could see from where I was that Hani did a fab job, from 1am that task was left to Henry Burrows, undoubtedly one of my fav dj's he carried out the job superbly the dancefloor really was full to bursting and the enegry levels in there were AMAZING, by the time Stu and Pauls set started at 2.30 the crowd were in a great place, I know myself and a lot of people in there had been waiting for a long time to see these 2 play together again on a big scale, and the cheer that went up when they came o the decks was fantastic!! The next two hours was a sweaty, hazey, energy filled riot of fantastic tunes, smiling faces, and pure and simply HOUSE music, it was clubbing from the old days, it reminded me why I loved London clubbing! I had the privellege of standing behind the decks for quite some time to grab some photos, and I just didnt want to climb back down again, from up there all I could see was a sea of arms in the air, people jumping up and down and singing into the air, I have goosebumps now thinking about it!! it was so unbelievably loud in there, not just the soundsytem, but the crowd too, shouting singing and cheering (Im dead sure there will be some sore throats out there today) Even though we were treated to an extra hour of the boys, I was still gutted when it was over!! all be it exhausted!!

Its a well known fact that I have been increasinlgy bored of clubbing over the last year and cut my nights out down to a quater of what I used to do, Dusted on Saturday was like turning back the clock to the days when clubbing was about clubbers, and when it was about playing to a crowd and making them dance with their arms aloft until they cant dance anymore! It was the kind of night that you leave at 6 exhausted and aching with a massive grin on your face and 7 new friends in tow, the kind of night that seems to have been evading me for months.... well not anymore!! I dare say everyone who was there will agree with me and come back for more Dusted action time and time again.

To all the dj's that played, I was in Awe on saturday, you should all feel proud you were part of it. To Stu and Paul, you well and truly welcomed in your new residency for Dusted on saturday, I have never heard you play better, congratulations guys, and to the Dusted team... keep up the good work !!

Jules xx

Thanks so much for the amazing review Jules and big big thanks to all of you at Canvas for our first party of 2007 - you made it such a very very special night. The DJs were all on top form and the crowd was one of the best we've ever had at a Dusted party.
We've said it a million times before but it really is you guys that make it what it is...

DUSTED CANVAS FIRST SAT OF EVERY MONTH

See you on the dance floor March 3rd!

Buds in : )

Jules that review was perfect.... I wasn't even there and I was getting all emotional just reading it!

Am soooooo pleased that it worked out so very well. Stu and Paul have, and always will be a favourite duo of mine and I know they will never disappoint.

I'm definitely there for the one in April - just remind me nearer the time so I don't forget.... or give me a clicky click so I can say I'll be there!!

Saturday 3 Feb, well what can anyone say. F$£%king fab man! Big shout out to all the organisers. You guys did an outstanding job preping this event. Not sure where all the crowds came from but i didn't see one sad face, just laughing, smiling, dancing and most of all good fun.

Special thanx to Ultrafunkula for inviting me to this event, cause not only did the downstairs dance floors rock but the VIP section maintained of the best funky house out.

Keep up the good work guys

Thanx

I've been lucky enough to have some fantastic nights recently, but this one definitely takes the biscuit. Henry, Stu and PaulB were legendary, the music was relentlessly top notch.

What sets this night apart from the others though, has to be the completely up for it and totally friendly crowd. It was just like the old Serious @ The Cross days and it was so good partying with both old and new faces.

Have to also say that it was quite special seeing PaulB play so brilliantly for Dusted given the campaign a few of us started years ago on the Seriousworld messageboard, just goes to show that talent always finds its way through in the end :oD
