Fuzzy, thats just your opinion mate. I see it totally differently.
you only have to look at the events and see that the boundaries are constantly being pushed and new ideas are always flowing.

Its not just hardcore though. I think many other genres and scenes have to be honest and accept its the same across the board, especially from the outside looking in.

As for repetitive use of tracks in a night I agree.
But some of that is down to the DJ's but also the promoter not booking enough of a diverse line up.

the boundries are being pushed but not by the big names who get paid too much for playing what may aswell be the latest clubland extreem cd

However take 96 - 00 it was a lot worse then and I could here 8 - 10 tracks played upwards of 6 times in a night. So it is a lot better now than back then. Producers are pushing in different directions but some cross over is inevitable.

would that be "with all due respect ?? with that level of illiteracy are you sure your not htid ???

If you're going to be pedantic about illiteracy it should have been "are you sure YOU'RE not htid?"... not "are you sure YOUR not htid?"

theres a lot of good stuff out there which isnt the repetitive mainstreame rubbish or cheese. I know commercialisme is a way to ensure survival, but theres got to be a compromise

Hmmm.
I know exactly what certain dj's you have seen recently but as promoters we are in a difficult position.
I'll be honest, you have to go for what sells and try to educate on the side lines. because without the same said dj's playing the same said stuff there would be nobody there to influence when something different does get played. Its sad but true

But we like to throw a few curve balls in. As Kerri commented. Scorps and producer in the main room.
At a hardcore event in Bristol. We thought it was worth the risk. ;-)

There's still a huge amount of quality hardcore around, in fact possibly more now than ever.

N.E.C. Ballearic Bootlegs, EP, Relentless are all pumping out some awesome tunes.

The scene is splitting two ways (again, it's not the first time) into commercial DJs playing their commercialised tunes to sell to the masses, and the underground playing harder tunes to keep the vibe alive.

It's happened to pretty much every genre of dance music since dance music has existed.

It's not a risk, Oxygen will sell out, be a cracking night and everyone will have fun and maybe hear a variety of styles of tunes, as always.

You've got Sy and Storm playing the power hour (again). That'll keep the teenie ravers happy if they can stay awake that long.
