ULTIMATE RAVING EXPERIENCE
TUNEAGE: 9/10
CROWD: 10/10 (FUCKING UNBELIEVABLE ATMOSPHERE LIKE A NYE EVENT)
LIGHTING: 8/10
SOUND: 8/10
VENUE: 7nHALF/10

I decided to go to Berlin for the the Contakt event, because firstly I was over due my first ever visit to the city, and second because I wasn't pleased about the London venue, being SEONE Club.

The venue Collumbiahalle is made of 2 concert arenas. The biggest was for the Contakt room, and the other for Dubfire, Loco Dice & Marco Carola. The venue wasn't exactly the most impressive, but we managed to get a good spot, arriving around 3am.
I was really worried about missing Gaiser. But realised I has nothing to fear because the order of rotation was done in the most ingenious and original way I've ever seen in any rave of Techno, Drum & Bass, or Hardcore. Each DJ were arranged by an order of who's tunes / style complimented another. So when we arrived Marc Houle was on, after about 3 tunes, Magda joined him, and they would go "back to back" / Teaming for a couple of tunes then she would play solo. After a few tunes Troy pierce comes on, and then comes off again leaving Magda on. When her set built up a bit more Gaiser then comes in... It's difficult to explain but that's the gist of it.

It's difficult to say who was the best on the night, since the night didn't work in the traditional structure of one set after another. But there were some stand outs by my reckoning. Gaiser nearly blew the speakers with some of his newer tunes. (one speaker kept crackling and cutting out) The place just went mental!!! Magda put on the best performance I've heard. Troy Pierce and Hearthrob were also good. And Marc Houles tunes from his new EP, all received mental reactions from the crowd. Finally there was Hawtin who was as usual very good, at times a bit on the show off side with his use of effects, but sometimes he was mindblowing.

Should say something about the much touted lighting show... At times it worked really well. Especially once they moved away from the "MINUS" white and black colours. (In colour it was awesome) However it's still wasn't as good as he laser shows I've seen for Minus- Cocoon at Amnesia in Ibiza or Cream at Amnesia.

We got there at 3am and left at 8:30am to go Bergain / Panorama Bar (There was an admin error with wristband distribution so many people didn't get into room 2 where it went on till 2PM... (TAKE NOTE LONDON 11PM - 2PM) Now that's a party.

Anyhow for all those going to SEONE, have a good one, the music if anything should live up to the hype...
Although I would recommend going to the Amsterdam or Belgium Events if you can.
