Huge event, great fun!
Wellm it was just huge! 20,000 gtohs descened upon Leipzig! 25 differenct venues with around 4 differnet bands playing for each of the 4 nights! Just huge, simply huge. It was imnpossible to see it all, and impossible to meet everyone I wanted to, but I met loads anyway...

Getting to bed on average at 5-6am, and out again at 13:00 meant little sleep for The Baron, all to ensure that you get a good flavour of the event....

Having got back at 1am last night, with only 4 hours sleep the morning before, I'm a little - exhausted. Here's just s random smattering of the gettings-up-to of Squire Gidders and I...

Let's just note, for the moment, that SquireGidders and I were out in force: I took over 6 outfits, including the latex Eton uniform, and the flight-suit... Oh yes! (Let's just say we were suitably photo-raped over there! On a few occasions the flashes didn't seem to stop... :) There was a fetish event in the Volkspalace to which I wore the flight-suit, which had over 1,500 fetish-goths (and us) in it, 4 live bands (mostly playing EBM and inustrial power-noise! Eeek!) The palace was circular, with the an annular outer portion which was an extended play, bar and chill-out area, really cool! (More details later!)

At the Parkbuhne SquireGidders and I did the kilts thing, and took a bottle of champagne (NV Gosset), quaffing it there, from the bottle. (Yes, terrible I know!) They didn't allow us in with the bottle, so we chilled outside, in he park, listening to the music, with the other relaxing goths, and watching them stroll by...

We went to the Volkerschlachtdenkmal (a MASSIVE granite memorial to the Napoleaonic wars of 1813) and listened to a band called Milu. There we did to toppers thing, and were joined by Julia, a lovely goth lady (whom we met at Parkbuhne), and a bottle of champers. She brought the glasses. Such posuers are we! We climbed the memorial and quaffed the champers (Roederer NV), much to the envy and admirtation of the other event-goers. Then, inside the memorial, amongst atmospheric lighting, at the centre, a two-person band performed. It was really impressive... (More details later!)

Well, enough for now, I'll post the events and more details of them later!

I've had a look through them - some particularly photos here and there, and it certainly looks like you met plenty of people and had a fun time! :)

I said hello to Squire Gidders at Antilight last night, btw.

No problems Marcus! It's supposed to be on the 25th of May 2007 until 28th of May 2007, according to the website, but the dates can move.

It will be definitely from 25th to 28th may 2007 because it's always on the religious bank holiday "Pfingsten" (pentecost / whitsuntide). On the official holiday nobody has to work on wgt- monday. Isn't this a holiday in England, too?

Well, we can always use this as a forum to organise next years WGT and what the plan can be or we can set up a yahoo forum. The trick is getting appropriate accomodation. If planned well, home stays usually work well in Germany?? Any thoughts?

Good idea, SquireG... I concur, and also bow to superior "home stay" knowledge!

I don't know about next year's national holidays, so can't comment on when it will be. There might be one then, but I'm notoriously poor at remembering them...

Yes, they work quite well. Bennie and the others from Stuttgart had a homestay for twelve people just a street away from my hotel room (in Plagwitz).

I can check out for you where who was and which experience everyone made, ok?

Greetings

**just remembered that one right now**

Good idea, Elvenblood, it would be interesting to know how their homestay went. (Having not really been at a homestay...)

@ SquireGidders: I have to finish my application for the parallel program of study - "EMMA". I have to write long concepts about my films to prove I'm worthy enough to enter the program. When I'll finish my studies here at the academy I will achieve two certificates at once: a diploma and the European Master of Media and Art.
This is my weekend. o_O
Ok...ok...AND the germany:sweden game (2:0 olé olé !) .......AND england:ecuador (I almost fell asleep- really regretted watching).
I hope your weekend was more eventful.

@dave: I haven't been in a homestay either. But I check it out.
