Hi folks,

ok quick update on the TV situation...

it looks like raising the cash isn't such a major problem - we seem to have had plenty of interest from promoters and events, which is a Really Good Thing.

However the station rejected our content on the basis that is was basically "way too strobey".

But we've been on TV before right?

Well that wasn't so much a problem with the last place that hosted us because they weren't big on paperwork and were going out of business anyhow so they really weren't too bothered about all those pesky broadcast rules (and we didn't know any better).

The new place IS big on paperwork and since none of us want Ofcom to send the boys round we're gonna have to go and rethink some of our content. Once we've done that we'll re-submit and pending approval we should be able to get back on air.

To answer the questions in this thread, this would be just on Sky but if the formula works then we'd look to exand our options so virgin may be another good option.

Thanks for bearing with us, we're doing our best to make this happen.

cheers,

Bernie :)

p.s. We've just added a blog to our site so keep an eye on that for updates :)

Update:
things have been progressing well siince we started down this route, although its been a while since we updated everyone with wha'gwaan.
We've got shedloads of ace mixes from top deejays (D10, Halder, Jamie Ritman, Faydz and too many other great names to mention) and are still cutting together ofcom compliant programs. Both are available online though:

We've sorted decent and reliable streams, so you can hear these mixes in sny format you like, check out www2.acidtv.co.uk or check out mms://www.acidtv.co.uk/acidtv_radio .

If you wanna check out the prorgams we've been making take a look at mms://www.acidtv.co.uk/acidtv (or the youtube channel)

Lately, skbz has been working on putting Faydz Oldskool set @ EKTOS birthday, to a load of oldskool rave footage from a party in Sydney 1990. Amazingly its come out non compliant and too strobey, check out the one posted below for good measure

Loading, please wait... If this fails to load, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Macromedia's Flash Player. Click here to get the latest flash player.

Also in the can are new veejay productions from VJ Dragonez (Italy) and the new improved Kid Kadian vids.

Wehn you film just get them not to strobe- strobes are generally not on all the time (its illegalanyway)
do slow motion shots for the strobed bits or cut to the Dj and light him or her up nicely so the strobe doesnt make that much difference.

Getting the money off clubs is a problem as if they give you money and then you film them then your decision to film that club or club night has been influenced by money. That makes it advertising. This was a problem when we did underground for Rapture-

There was a massive fine for a guy taking money for filming in the mid or late 90's. Cant remember the full detail but he said to the club he wouldnt film unless they got him a hotel to crash in afterwards, they said no, he didnt film them, they complained to OfCom (a rival club did pay him) and won- the fine was in the tens of thousands against either ITV or Channel 4.

Very dangerous! We are maybe thinking about doing a run of 4 shows just for the hell of it in the summer.

Good luck with the project.
