So you needed more skill to mix this than say what James Zabiela or Richie Hawtin need to do what they do?

Yes, if you're using turntables with out BPM counters and computers to assist, of course it takes more talent and skill, not disrepecting other DJs, just read and understand what we're saying.

I understand don't worry and whilst it is a very noble point of view, it is also a very naive one.

However, I shall download and listen.

I Bow before you "The Trance DJ's"

Although I'm no DJ, I am and always will be a vinyl Junkie. New technology has brought forward a different type of Dj, no more or less talented than the other, although running promotions and having a son as A Dj, who is also a vinyl junkie, has shown me that there is a certain skill when mixing vinyl.

I think it's also a lot to do with what a DJ can do with a mixer when playing a "digital" set.

I encourage DJ's that play at my events to use vinyl where possible and is my preference but new technology is something that we've had to get used to over the years.

Had a listen to this, it was enjoyable enough although I was a little disappointed with some of the mixing given your claim to be better DJ's than the likes of Richie Hawtin and James Zabiela.

As I say, enjoyable enough though so will keep an eye out for future mixes

We are not saying we are better than Richie Hawtin or James Zabiela, We just feel it takes more physical touch and feel to play vinyl, with CD's the electronics can take over a bit.

Last week we were in a DJ competition where one of the DJ's we were up against used CD's and recorded all his tracks at 120 bpm so he didn't need to touch the pitch or anything. In our eyes that is cheating and takes away the touch, feel and skill in mixing.

I guess what we are saying is using decks, vinyl and a mixer leaves less chance for electronics to take over and you more open to critisism. No dis-respect WHATSOEVER is meant for DJ's who use CD's without taking shortcuts.

Another way at looking at it is that it was using initative - why practivce and be good when you can cheat and be great?
Did he tell you his plans or were you assumming that is wasnt a freak coincidence that all his tunes just happened to be 120bpm?
