Boxing. A sport loved by many. A sport that genuinely lives up to the hype. A sport that can bring all corners of the globe together for one fight. Boxing had produced some of the greatest sportsman ever to walk the planet; Ali being the obvious candidate. Watching Ricky Hatton lose to Floyd Mayweather was invigorating not just for the UK but all over the world. An estimated audience of half a billion people watched the Hatton Mayweather fight, and nearly beat the viewing and gross profit figures for the legendary Oscar de la hoya V FMJ fight. Boxing is now receiving the public interest and press coverage it should, thanks to such fights, and the emergence of genuinely good British fighters like Joe Calzaghe, Junior Witter and Ricky Hatton. There’s nothing better than getting immersed in the build up to a big fight, and its even better when the sport lives up to the billing, take note Premier League! This is basically a group to discuss the big fights, boxing news and general views. Obviously its not going to be greatly popular, but I think if Ricky does get that re-match with Mayweather or Joe Calzaghe fights Pavlik, then we'll all be conversating!
