What is cantankerous old gits?

Feel the need to let off steam about something, or just life in general? Well do so here! Have a good rant. If you're good enough we'll all join in. In spite of the group name, cantankerous old cows are more than welcome to join in.

Rules:

  1. This is not the Abuse group.
    2. If you just want to repeatedly abuse a specific person this is not the place for you. If however you want to have a general rant about well, anything. Then please, step right in... Also, please do not post anything libellous here - if you do you will be asked to change your post or, if it's really bad it will be removed.

  2. Obey the rules of DSI.
    3. No racism, no homophobia. Anyone caught posting such WILL be banned from DSI.

  3. Be articulate and eloquent.
    4. Really. There is nothing more tedious and annoying than trying to read the inane text speak of a gibbering twat who hasn't yet worked out that posts on DSI are a) free, and b) not limited to 160 characters. (See? 219 characters)

  4. Don't post quick responses to posts to merely say that you (dis)agree.
    5. If you DON'T agree with a rant, then please post a counter-rant, rather than a simple "that's not true" or some other such waste of valuable electrons, photons and time (by all means post your counter-rant in the same thread). If you can only resort to pedantry about poor spelling and/or grammar when refuting someone's rant then you automatically lose.

    If you DO agree with a rant then don't waste everyone's time by saying "Me too" or similar, just click "this made me laugh" If you really must post to congratulate someone in a thread on their ranting or counter-ranting then your congratulations must not use less than 50 words (see rule 3).

  5. Read all the posts in a thread before you reply.
    6. Any comments that have obviously been posted before someone has read an entire thread and so just repeat what someone else has said will be deleted. Please do people the courtesy of reading their posts before adding to a thread.

  6. Inability to follow these rules is liable to a) get you banned from the group and b) leave you open to a huge rant about how some people can't even be bothered to show the common courtesy of following the rules of the group.
  7. There is no "closed season" on TV chefs. Every day is the glorious 12th as far as those wankers are concerned.
  8. Try to be tasteful.

Oh, and obviously, always, always, always, try to be funny. Even when you can't be.
