Danny is one of the youngest DJ’s to crack the East Anglia club scene. Aged just 21 and based in Kings Lynn; Danny has accomplished a great deal in record time for someone his age.
After splitting from his original DJ partner he soon found his feet and gained his 1st residency with a small promotion called Bo-ing in Norwich, November 2003. This in itself was no small defeat for a young DJ not local to such a close knit clubbing community. He soon won over the local clubbers and became very popular with regional promoters, headlining events all over East Anglia and beyond.
By January 2004 Danny was headhunted for Pams DJ Idol competition playing against some of the best Hard House/ Hard Trance talent around. Danny took 1st prize with relative ease as his raw flare for Dj’ing and entertaining plainly outshone the other competitors. This lead to Danny playing at future Pams House after parties and his 1st big club experience at Zest in Ipswich.
Having started at such a young age DJ’ing at local youth events, illegal’s and the odd house party
Danny watched the scene change and adapted his style and really started to excel giving the clubbers not only expert tune selection, mixing but also interaction – something which is usually left to the dancers and entertainers. It’s on this basis that Danny learned to evolve and perfect his larger than life antics behind the decks, as well as his technical ability, in particular his scratching which he became very well known for.
After just 1 year on the Norwich scene Danny got his big residency with Pams House in May 2005; this was the real turning point in Danny’s career. Playing alongside the likes of Rob Tissera, Lisa Lashes, BK, and most recent a back to back set with “Tidy Trax” Ben Kaye. He also headlined Pams House at Lava/ Ignite Boxing day 2005 in Norwich.
Following his success at Pams House; Danny got his second residency with Atomic – the longest running Hard House night in Peterborough, each time Danny has headlined this event he has brought in record numbers.
Danny has headlined all over East Anglia and further a field , with various promotions such as Summit4 - Birmingham; Beatsabangin – Ipswich; Tek-nology – Cambridge/ Lowestoft/ Norwich; Bosh – Norwich; Stuff – Norwich; Treatment – Lowestoft.
Never one to sit on his laurels Danny is always plugging away at all career possibilities available to him. Like getting his own website www.dannyburch.com, promotional DVD; being made for release this year, production and his most recent feat a professional manager Danny Banthorpe.
Since then he’s been in the studio with fellow DJ Ben Kaye boshing out the tracks; getting his 1st tune signed by Equilibrium Records – called “Devils work” in October 2005 just 1 day after completion.
Danny’s 1st ever production “Revolution 909” made it number 1 on Tidy Digital and was played out by the likes of Tidy Boys, Lisa Pin-Up, Kevin Energy and Shawn M. Danny has more dates booked in the studio with Ben during 2006 so watch this space.
