Pioneer CDJ 400
Bought two the other day, just managed to eat and sleep, quite addictive little things, the effects are surprisingly good and easy to use, the vinyl emulation isnt as good as the one on the CDJ1000, but still very user friendly, the hot loop and beat divide function are the jewel in its crown though, love this function, recomend this 2 anyone who is considering buying one.

Lol, that would be kind of you, someone told me she had one, but I found it hard too believe really when Serato isnt updated till feb for the pioneer 400 according too the brochure.

she hasn't used it with serato. i'm taking it round her house tonight for her to play with though!

you don't need to wait for an update for the CDJ400 anyway - just put the control CDs in like you would with any CDJ......

ive decided this week to invest in some new equipment for messing around on at home to begin with and had originally looked at the cdj800 mkIIs with a pioneer djm400 mixer. having spent pretty much all of today reading reviews and watching demo videos, im almost convinced that the new 400s and the djm700s is the way to go. am i doing the right think as i cant justify the money to go to the 1000mk3s and the djm800?

the CDJ800mk2 are only £70 more than the CDJ400 and they have a proper platter - exactly the same as the one on the CDJ1000mk2.

if you're planning to DJ in clubs then you might as well have a CDJ that works just like the ones in the clubs so i would go for the CDJ800mk2 over the CDJ400 anyday because the platter is so small and light on the CDJ400. if the price difference was greater then it would be a tougher choice but when they cost nearly the same it's a no brainer for me.

DJM800 is definitely better than the DJM700 but they work in a very similar way so the DJM700 is a great choice if you want to save money.

try them all first and you'll see what i mean - it's all down to personal preference and you might really want the features on the CDJ400 especially if you aren't going to play out.

I still prefer the 400 for in house DJ'n, and obviously 1000's for outside, being friends with loadsa ppl that have 1000's means I can DJ on them regularly anyway, still love the filtering on the 400's, cant get enough of it.
