If you still haven’t heard about our new sharable player, read the following carefully, but watch out as it’s quite addictive:

We might be a little late on the scene with this one and you probably have an embedded player from one of our competitors but…

*Can you earn money from theirs?
*Does it have Needledrop™ technology?
*Can you fill it with whatever you want?

we don't think so!

So ditch theirs, get ours, the time is now! Simply add tracks to the player on DJdownload as normal then click “share player” and you are into Needleshare™, a craze destined to go crazy in dance-land.

the best bit for me is that you can preview the whole track in full high res glory!

It fades out after 30 secs & you have to keep clicking it to hear the entire track.

but u cud easily just record it in sections which then people cud just take out the silance gaps in a simple wave editing program and eventually they have ur track for free.

if u can hear sumthing then it can be pirated simple fact, if the whole track is hearable which it is in segmants then it can be stolen.

tbh i love the idea of the little mediaplayer which then people cud effectivly buy tracks from, and i personally wud consider using sumthing like that however it wud have to be so tunes cudnt be played in ther whole track or whole track with gaps.

the player has potential just needs to be taken alittle further, digital downloads are tbh a put of in the first place for filesharing never mind been able to just record them from clips in high quality

er...
Surely if you were of the pikey variety, you would just download the mp3 from any of the millions of file sharing locations... why bother stitching audio together?!

Kind of a dumb argument against it really.
It's like saying you don't like the fact that you can download the tune once you've bought it... because someone could buy it, then share it with everyone!

Would anyone really bother? Dumb argument.

I'd rather just pay 99p and save me the fucking around. Also, the streaming quality wouldn't be 320kbps (i'd guess) and would sound fucking awful if you ever tried to play it on anything loud.

nothing what is in internet is safe, especially if its in Flash, because if you can preview whole song it means there is somewhere in swf file ActionScript code responds for loading it from server. everything what you need is get SwfDecompiler (or something similar) to get AS code from file, save it as a FLA file and check where its connect with server :)
don't know how it looks with Needledrop coz i didn't check it yet, but for example beatport got rubbish protection (already broken).
no worries not everybody can do it that easily im in Flash and ActionnScript 12 years (ish) that is why i know how to do it plus im happy customer of DjDownloads :)

yeah, that is a shit argument. Its a brilliant idea and one that will draw people back to dj download from beatport. No one is going stitch between 10-20 clips of audio together for one track, easily done but would take up a stupid amount of time and would be tedious as hell.

As for the protection argument so few people would be able to break it apart from computer wizards, who probably don't Dj, apart from the very odd exception. This can not be considered a treat to the the dj download industry.

I often find I buy a track on beatport and when I download it and listen again that I don't like the arrangement or a particular part that wasn't in the clip. Therefore this is a problem solver.

Personally I totally love the player, no other web site offers you (the buyer) to properly preview a track and I bet you guys are the same as me ? With so many tracks bundled up needing heavy edit work just to take out the stupid sound that you didn't get to hear in the usual 1 to 2 minute clip right ?

This player rocks, the only thing I don't like about DjDownload.com is that the tracks are only in MP3 and I pretty much (unless the tracks really is something else) Only play full WAV's. (Please, lets not go in to that again !!!)

This player can only be used with a full track loaded up to preview right ?

Obvious really as if you load in a one minute clip it will only play the one minute clip !!! Doh !

Love the player but also love full WAV's, can't win !

Personally i think DJDownload is a much better site to navigate than Beatport anyway, and a lot quicker, so the NeedleDrop player has just put it miles ahead of the competition.

The bottom line is the type of people that rip/ record/ steal tunes on the net are always going to find ways of doing it just to get it free. The more of this type of inivitive inclusive player that are brought out the better it is for all artist and producers for getting what they deserve for all their hard work and effort. If people dont do anything about the whole file stealling/ sharing (with friends ofcourse !!!!!!!!) then it wont be long before people just come to expect music for free!!!! And why should it be, would we all expect to walk into a gig and ask the DJ for a copy of the new tunes he's playing on your pen drive????????

This players good news as far as Im concerned!!

Actually, it's pretty damn good, and the playback is not quite full quality.

Must admit, I do like being able to hear ALL the song. And DJD is often half the price of Beatport :D

don't get me wrong, i don't break protection of on-line shops to steal music, but to show owners where they got security gaps. im a DJ and im djing for the love of music, already spent lots of $$$ on 12"/cds/mp3. personally reckon that DJD is one of the best on-line shop, and Needledrop player is great coz allow us to listen WHOLE track, but still sayin that nothing is save on the internet.

Personally it's Juno for me all the way, every week I load in about 1200 samples in Itunes and with a flick of page down key can just switch to the next.

Juno also lay their pages out by date so I can make sure I've not missed a track they have in, what ever they don't get in I personally feel it's not got far on to other sites such as beatport or DjD, there can't be many more than 1200 tracks released a week with anything to do with 'electro' released any way !?!?!?!?

I love that DjD player though, it would save me serious wonga in trying to work out which mix is best by being able to hear the full track, I just wish DjD did WAV's.
