I don't know why everyone is kicking up the fuss... no promoters listen to demo cd's anyway :-)

Now if they were offering a service that automatically made a DJ popular and bring 20 people to every gig they play at... their phone would never stop ringing ha ha

I've followed this thread and I still can't work out exactly what you do. Are you suggesting that somebody says 'heres 10 tracks, track 1 should start mixing into track 2 at 3.30 until 4.20 then into track 3 at about 4 minutes in (oh and fade up the bass on that bit for a couple of bars) then track 4 on the 'boom chiki' bit etc etc'. This is then put together by you remotely and the result sent back?

I'm surprised that you hadn't pre-empted the market you're aiming for and offered a little video to accompany the mix, with someone pretending to mix, making the appropriate actions on the deck, waving their hands in the air and looking like their choosing their next record, to help the person with the fake demo.

A nice follow-on earner ... They'd be sorted then for when they play as a result of getting a gig using false advertising ... faking all of the appropriate actions when "Playing live".

If you listen to any commercially mixed CD, by any 'big name' DJ, it will have been done electronically.

Yeah but would have been done by them at least...!!

What a fucking joker you are..!! You are the kind of tosser that is ruining the scene by creating a generation of useless DJ's that cant even do a poxy mix demo. If they need someone to do it for them they shouldnt be in the game..!!!

there is no way a CD like this, beatmatched on the last minute run out of each tune, is going to impress anyone....It simply is not a mix, so it wont sound like a mix..it will sound like one of those old compilation music mag CDs....and uses exacty the sort of fade in/fade out process you can get winamp or whatever to do....I dont see the point of it at all.

Can I just say if anyone is actually thinking of doing this I'll happy provide exactly the same service for a quater of the price! I've been mixing for 7 years and have a regular radio show so I know enough about mastering to provide a decent quality mix.

This is a legitimate service for DJs (however established) who may not have the time, or simply want outstanding results which doing the mix live may not achieve. As I said, its not for us to judge the standard of the DJ and I wont get into DJ ethics, thats up to them and the promoter. But if you need a CD done, drop us a line!

Its just cheating as far as i'm concerned. I'm sure there is a market for this sort of thing but the people who use this service surely must have to take into consideration that is just not their work. Every DJ has their own style of mixing little tricks they use etc and this would obviously not be there!

sounds bloody silly thing to do for a dJ - Maybe for the clubber who cant mix and would like all their faves on 1 CD, But then again at prices they are charging that is going to be unlikely.
