Subject
Caculating customs/VAT/duty charges etc on artwork
Anyone on here able to give me an idea or an exact answer how much in charges I'd get for importing a $200 piece of artwork (from the US)? The artist is refusing to mark it down and/or as a gift so I'm trying to work out if it's worth it.

Bit urgent, so if you know, would be great to get an answer.

Why not just ask the guy to ship DDP and be done with it?

The customs charge will be the combination of the VAT and duty. VAT will be 15% of the value written on the CN22 customs declaration, and the percentage of duty can be calculated by finding the TARIC code for art(work).

The TARIC code can be found on europa.eu

I have a feeling art may be zero-rated, but I'm not 100% sure.
