Not the most constructive comment there!

First of im only looking at your fav which i like the most of them bar one or two, I think your genre/range is good, maybe some big crowd shots would be nice (Im still looking for this).

But focus is what is letting you down i think i have this problem currently

An im not sure if this belongs in you fav, dont do it for me, even though there is depth to the pic , it just has something missing i think

But im no pro but thought id try and help!

Best of luck mike

haha thanks guys, im not saying spawn of sissko photo wise, hes just the person who took me to my first rave and also my boss in non-rave-world :P, (ive been trying to get him to come out more but he wont) not all the pics in my faves are there because their some of the better pics ive taken, like the one below is there because it reminds me of a fun moment at that rave. yeah i hear you on the focus issue i recently got a new 10.5mm lens and am still getting used to using it in low level lighting. thanks for the comments! i appreciate it guys.

no

Learn how to use your cam, light trails can be cool but they don't make a good picture

Keep trying. I think you need more variation in your shot's, they all seem to be of light trails and not much else which becomes boring picture after picture. Try something different next time you take your camera out and keep experimenting :p

nah dnt listen to them boring people light trails rock man!! plus do what you like doing!! :)
everyone was wooow about light trails, then someone said they are now boring so everyone is yaaay about something else, do what you like doing best but always try different technics simply cuz the more you can do with your camera the better photographer you are :) but when you try everything stick to what you like doing :)
with light trails try to keep them off the subject, well not completely sometimes it can make the picture like here:

but sometimes it can ruin the photo, so use it wisely :)

in this photo i personally think there is too much lights on the dj
get some more work and work on your editing :) but I think if you work hard you can get really really good, there is something about your work that i really like and ive got a feeling you could be really good, so good luck :)

I don't think the use of light trails was what was in question, it was the fact that the photos were only 'interesting' because of the light trails. I personally think light trails should be used to add to an interesting photo... If I take a boring photo with interesting light trails, I'll usually still bin it.

Why?

If every pro here says that you need to edit, then will you, or is it a principle that you wont ever?

Editing isn't cheating

It is to a certain extent if you where using film could you edit ?!

I believe editing is a certain skill, and don't think there is anything wrong with, and use it. It not something everyone can do affectively. Iv seen people change several photos chopped cut etc into one, and they are out standing.

But if we are talking about raw talent to being able to spot the making of a good picture and employing the correct skills to get the desired finished product you are looking, if you really on photoshop or other related software you are cheating, in my personal opinion.

But in this day and age we look at both as a package to complement each other i guess so these days you must be skilled in both

so get cheating!

Yes you can with film!
Bit of cardboard over the paper to over/under exposes. Filters over the light to get different effects etc.
Digital is no different.
God did you think all film togs took their prints to happy snaps and went with standard processing?

RUBBISH!

To build on Marc's usual response to this: If editing is cheating, then so is taking photos, and we should all be using canvas and paint brushes in the middle of the night club.

And yes, with film, you do edit.. you do things as you're processing to change how the developed image will look.

If you take a perfect picture, you're still limited to what your camera can do... if it doesn't capture the colours that were there, you need to enhance them, if it has a lack of contrast, and therefore loses the darker feel that you saw on the night, then you need to add some contrast and so on...

Editing is just an extension to the whole process... by not doing it, you're limiting yourself to what your camera can do.

it's not about relying on photoshop, it's about using it to enhance your image.

Afterall an awesome shot that is edited was awesome before you edited.

You can't polish a turd.
