Is it possible to fast-track??
Hi,
I've been a pro-photographer for a few years now, but have only recently began shooting in clubs. I am, of course, very keen to become a pro-spotter, and think (well, hope) my standard of pics rates ok compared with others. So my question is this....is there a way to fast-track to becoming a pro-spotter?? I appreciate that many will say I have to 'earn my stripes', etc, as a spotter first (which I completely understand), but I can't really afford to be doing lots of jobs for free (the free guest pass/free drinks offers are of no interest at all to me).
Please let me know what you think, both in terms of potentially fast-tracking, as well as in regard the quality of my pics.
Genuine advice, help and constructive criticism will all be gratefully received.
Kind regards,
Rob

I would say your pictures are of standard. Go through your galleries and fave your best shots. They appear on your profile. This is used to showcase your best work.

Being pro is not just about the pictures though. It's about handing out cards and getting people signed up to the site. You should also be an active member of the site.

Rob, your photos look good.
As Dom says you need to be active on the site as well as take quality photos.

You'll also need to shrink your watermark as it must never interfere with the DSI watermark (and it is!)

Personally I think your photos are over processed, and the weird white border thing is horrid.

But that's just one man's opinion, and your standard is much higher than others that have been made pro-spotter in the past.

Good luck.

Dr and Paul, thanks for your comments....the watermark will be changed, and I may even lose the border too (although I still like it myself....anyone else got an opinion??)

In don't like borders in general. On here they all look bad though.

Ok, comments taken on-board....I've just uploaded a new gallery titled 'HedKandi@Venus', with border-less, watermark-less pics that have little post-processing work done on them.....

photos are good but I think of more relevance is what Dom and Crank said about site interaction, promotion etc and that does take time :)

I'm still learning my way around the site, but intend on becoming an active member once I know what I'm doing.....

By the way, do you know how long I should expect to wait for some cards to arrive?? Obviously, I'm not gonna start booking myself in to places until I'm properly equipped, but my trigger finger is getting a little itchy already....
