An interesting project in Italy I was recently apart of :)
Hey so thats what Ive been up to :)
Late June me and 10 other photographers/videomakers from all over the world were invited to Italy for a week to explore and experience Cariati/Calabria which is commonly known as poorer region of Italy which is run by mafia.
I must admit everyone who heard that that's where Im off for a week was rather concerned and warned me/tried to convince me to stay home haha
The story out there is far different from peoples imagination, I had one of the most amazing weeks, and I'd like to share this with others.

The people out there are incredibly generous and welcoming, they will invite you to their house and give you a drink on a hot day, they will offer you food when you are hungry, there is a strong sense of community in the region and even tho all the businesses are struggling to make their living, they do not stand as obstacle but try to help each other which I found most unbelievable.
The food is far more that you would expect, we all prepare ourselves for a mighty feast once heading to Italy but this ladies and gents was far more than any of us was hoping for. I have been to Italy at least 10 times before in various part of the country and I can tell you now that on this trip I have tasted the most delicious wine and olives I have tasted anywhere else in the world, think I do not like red wine EVER, there our producer pretty much had to drag me and the rest of the team back to the van as we did not want to leave once we had a little tasting of it.
There is sooo much you could say about that place, and I would like to recommend all of you to go there and experience it yourself before it becomes awfully touristic and loses its charm.
I have chosen LAMEZIA's airport which is around 2-3 hours away and on which you get a cup of coffee for 50 cents and ice cream for 1 euro as oppose to any other airports that you might have been to which will charge you 8-9 euros for coffee and 15 for a burger.

Here are some of the photos i took whilst out there:

And here is a short video made by Simonk Kino Koba a French video-maker who took the part with me in this project(who I personally think is one to watch out for in the future, one you will definitely hear about in the years to come) summarizing the whole trip:

The project did go with a big bang in Italy and received many positive comments from public and media.

Thanks and enjoy! :)
