DontStayIn has very few rules regarding what you can and can not do in the chat forums, but those that are there, exist for a reason. Please make sure you follow them. If you are contacted by a moderator after breaking a rule they will explain what is going on.
If you are posting an image that could be classed as "not suitable for work" then please LINK to the image and add put (NSFW) next to the description of the image. NEW
Your comments will be deleted if they:
- Contain 'hardcore' pornographic images
- Contain 'shock' photos NEW
- Have racist content
- That contain homophobic content
- That are repeated in many threads
- Are obvious spam - e.g. pyramid schemes
You will get a warning if you:
- "chat-spam" (i.e post loads of garbled messages in chat one after the other)
- Steal someones identity by spotting yourselves in someone elses photos (we will confirm with the real person in the photos first)
- Fail to class links as NSFW NEW
You WILL be banned if you:
- Repeatedly post 'hardcore' pornographic images
- Repeatedly post 'shock' images NEW
- Repeatedly fail to class links as NSFW NEW
- Repeatedly post racist comments
- Spam the groups by posting the same message repeatedly or across groups
- Post obvious spam - e.g. pyramid schemes
- Spam chat by posting the same message (or link) repeatedly

Q. What does DSI mean?
A. DSI is the acronym for DontStayIn
Q. How do I get those icons on my profile?
A. Read this article here all about the different icons you can get on DSI.
Q. Why does the number of people I have spotted go down every now and then?
A. DSI periodically clears out users whose e-mail addresses have stopped working (or have never been verified) from the user database. When this happens such users are discounted from "spotting" totals. This is a good thing since you then know that the number of people you have spotted are more likely to be active, genuine users of the site.
Q. Why does a group that is in my favourites list not appear in my profile?
A. Because it's a group with one, or more, of its options set to "private". They deliberately aren't shown on profile pages.
Q. Some of my icons have dissappeared and i cant add buddies and do other operations, where have they gone?
A. It is quite likely you havn't cleared your internet cache or temporary internet files. In your internet browser try clicking tools, internet options and the button that says "delete temp internet files".
Q.Where can I get a hi-res version of the DSI logo?
A.You can get the logo in Photoshop .psd format here.
Q.I have some users on my buddy list that I don't want there. How do I get rid of them?
A.You can accept and reject all your buddy request from the Buddy request page found under the My DSI menu.
Q.How do I leave the site/stop getting e-mails?
A.Go to "My DSI" > "My privacy" and choose to unsubscribe from the site. This will remove your profile page from DontStayIn and stop you receiving any further emails.
Q.I want to upload my video to DontStayIn; what is the maximum file size allowed?
A.You can upload video up to 64mb in size.
Q.I want to upload video to DontStayIn but dont know what the supported formats are. What do I need to know?
A.These are our recommendations for uploading video to DSI:
- Frame rate: If you use a frame-rate OVER 20fps, we will down-convert your clip to 20fps. This will affect the quality, so its best to use 20fps or lower; ideally 20fps.
- Image Size: We convert all videos to 450px width (assuming they're in portrait orientation), and use whatever height you've specified. Therefore, we recommend using 450px as the width. You might get better results by using a higher resolution, but it'll take ages to upload.
- Bit rate: The higher the bit-rate, the better the quality will be when we encode it. We use a variable bit-rate encoder set at 448 kbits / sec.
- Audio: We use an MP3 encoder with settings of sampling rate: 22,050 and bit rate: 64,000
