Not too sure where people are getting an issue between distinguishing the grey and the white. I think the boxes stand out quite well, although this does seem to be a bit clearer when you wear a pair of sunglasses when looking at the site.

not sure if it's the monitor I'm using or what, but there is no grey to be seen here, and no background whatsoever to links. It probably IS the monitor ?I guess, since I can see it all lovely and clearly at home.... but still.... not great as this is a pretty new (year old) and decent monitor.

(using chrome btw)

exactly anngel xxx

I can understand coming away from certain genres of music, but at the same time, whats the point of having a site that doesnt stick in people mind when you first log on to it.

I think someone mentioned some where that it has been proven that 2 of the colours that stick in people mind are yellow and balck. I may be wrong but i am sure someone would agree with me.

Promoters: wouold you put a flyer on the street that was just grey and white??

yeaa i understand wanting that to stand out..i just dont understand (from a marketing/branding perspective) why so much yellow has gone when it's such a major part of the dsi brand..

contrast. sorted the grey but not the link background. cheers :D

edit* can see the links and actually it's a subtle and yet instantly recognisable way of highlighting them! Very unobtrusive and yet intuitive. IMO. :)

I think the whole point of advertising is to start with a blank canvas.

The idea of promoting on this flush white background would be more appealing than the original yellow.

I agree, but i think again the whole point is to push out banners and homepage branding more for the people that buy them as opposed to keeping a solid DSI brand-revenue is more important in these hard times

If it helps, we still wear yellow and black football kits

the grey will not be there for long as its valuable advertising space so dont worry about it

No problem.

I think the link background needs making a shade or two darker - like it is when you highlight a link.

Also, ive just started to get a script warning in IE8 saying "A script is causing this page to run slow" or something similar. Thing is the sites not running slowly! lol

read the t+c's?

I already have.

My point is that the copyright notice is misleading.

i totally understand, i work with internet companies on their banners/marketing/sales every day, so i know what you mean!!!

Retaining some of the yellow might have been a better idea and bled it out slowly-yellow can be overpowering if over-used, but used sparingly in the just the right place it can be an effective tool in marketing to greater sales. Interestingly, white is associated with creativity (blank slates, white boards). Might kick start some of those old, pilled up minds to start working again!!

Actually, that wasnt interesting at all-i'm such a nerd

In what way?

It says all content is copyright Development Hell. That suggests everything including photo copyright are owned by them.

T & C's state different, but that copyright notice is misleading.
