Big DSI news!
Dear DSI!

As a number of you have already seen via the guardian article, we have recently been taken over by development hell, who run magazines 'The Word' and 'Mixmag'.

We have been working really hard to get this deal signed since last October. Now the deal is finally done, we can concentrate on the site relaunch that we promised you in January!

We are back in the office, which feels GREAT after 5 months working from home (and going slightly insane). The new office is in Angel, London and we have been setting up today / yesterday, so please bare with us if you are trying to phone the office, as the phone system is playing up a little. Best way to contact us all at the moment is email.

The DSI office staff are now:

John
Dave
Owain
Jason
Andy
Gee
Wendy

Tim has moved on to pastures new and we wish him the best of luck in whatever he goes onto.

We are REALLY excited about this deal, and are really looking forward to the synergy that is created by having DSI, the Word and Mixmag all in the same offices.

Thanks for sticking with DSI over the years, the next chapter is just beginning!

Cheers,

John / All at DSI HQ!

I hope that isn't the case? The copyright of the photos are still owned by the photographer right? I can't remember if there was a clause in the t&c's about DSI being able to use the photos as they wish?

Good news though boys. I'm pleased to see you are hanging about. :D x

This is a pretty good point, I think most people (tho not all ;) are comfortable with DSI T&C's as they stand. If there are changes that relate to the new ownership, ie DH having the right to use images as they choose, a point should be made of flagging that up with users before the change. Not to do that could cause some pretty major ill feeling among users.

I cite Facefuck's change of content ownership usage to their favour without flagging it up, causing a major press scandal, and then them having to backtrack because of the shit-storm it created.

Just a thought peeps. :)
