Why did you keep going back then?

I've really enjoyed Melbourne, although I think it's dependent on what sort of lifestyle you enjoy. Some people hate it like you say and find it dull, but if you know where to go its a really cool happening city.

There's lots of hidden clubs and comfy coffee shops off the beaten tourist track, south Melbourne is quite happening. Fitzroy and collingwood are fantastic these days. The night cat is a wicked venue that you wouldn't know about if you don't live here. I enjoy the fact that its a city with city attractions, but it's so much more relaxed then other cities in Australia, its very European in that respect. The climates a tad annoying. 46.8 degrees is fucked, but it was DAMN cold Saturday!

Like I said, its subjective, if you don't like those things, you wont like Melbourne.

yeah i got off the beaten track, and got taken to quite a few local places. i just found the whole place pretty small and provencial. i ended up feeling teh same way about sydney as well, although i prefer sydney much much more. i just found that you ended up bumping into a lot of the same people all the time, and eventually the same happened up in sydney as well.

I've been having a completely different experience of it by the sounds of it, I haven't had that problem at all. I don't like the pace of Sydney. People like different things, for every 1 person who hates Melbourne there are 10 who love it.. I would expect. Maybe...
