Ever had doormen trouble? This is the place you need to be!
We have all had troule with doorstaff/doormen/bouncers/steward/c**ts etc etc well now you have a place to air your views, find out your rights and get some advice on what to do.

Maybe your a doorman and want to get your point across or want to give someone advice, please feel free! The more doorman the merrier :)

Just remember people... this is not a place for just slagging off doormen... This is a place to ask questions, get advice and maybe get some help.

Please invite your buddie in peeps... Lets get a mas-debate (hehe) going.

Quick question - what's the objection in clubs to collars being turned up? Can you shed any light on it Chris?

I cant see any problem with it and have never come accross a club not allowing it. The only thing i cn think of is it may be covering up a tattoo or somthing... still dont think that can be a reason though...

Where did this happen?

Slinky on Friday night. I was wondering if it was a new secret code for 'up for a ruck' or something. Maybe the tattoo thing, but it just struck me as very odd! May be a perfectly good reason, but I was foxed...

I know thats what I thought.

My bloke said apparently they are allowed to use handcuffs to keep a suspect contained until the police get there but I've never heard of that and if its NOT for the police's purposes then is using handcuffs allowed?

Was it this guy who told your bf?

Yes that is a rubber roman chest plate and a pink riding crop.

Interesting bit on the BBC - linky

Not an offence, but obviously a sticky question. In extremes, and let's face it there are some nasty twats who kick off sometimes, I guess it could help to control a situation. Needs to be used with care I'd say, and can you always rely on that care being taken?

Ahhhhh so liquid and envy... Having ur colar up is very chavish and a venue like that wont allow it...

Handcuffs are a no no... But they can use pastic restraints (like big cable ties) as long as they have been on a training course on how to use them otherwise they can be done for assault.

Well thats the law at present but it is due to change... As it always does....

The training that doormen now do is the same as special cunstales take so i dont see any reason why doormen cant use handcuffs etc...

Yay! Brilliant idea for a group! The main reason i dont go to one of the clubs in my town (apart from that its shit) is that the doormen are known for being very heavy handed...in fact my little bro's mate had a kicking from them a month ago for no particular reason and ended up in hospital with a punctured lung. )o:

If you would like to send me a PM i will pass over details where you can report the doormen to a high authority that will do a seperate investigation to the police :)

I wish this group was here back in May (and if it was I wish I knew about it). I went to HTID staff and then to the owner of Air with my doormen complaint and in the end got no response so gave up. No one listen's to the hardcore ravers. (That's just how I feel LOL). :)

Always remember there is soeone higher than the doorstaff and the manager... The people that licence the doormen are a hell of alot more interested in bad conduct than te managment!

Please remember to invite your buddies into the group :)
