ok worst doorman: called Jay i think

i was a regular at this particular nightclub and had a lot of fun! this one time me and my mates were on the seats and i was snogging one of my male mates! 2 doormen grabbed me and threw me out!
i emailed the club to find out why and got no answer!
so the following week i returned to the same club and i got in until this one doorman called Jay grabbed me and pushed me out and told me i was barred! i asked why and he told me to go away! he let the rest of my mates in(the same ones who were with me the previous week) and they later told me they heard the doorman saying that they dont allow slut in their establishment!
i then emailed the club again and they replyed telling me the reason was coz we were doing more than just kissing and i was jumping all over the furniture!
a.) erm...nope if we were doing more than just kissing then why only i thrown out and barred!
b.) i have never climbed on any piece of furniture there so maybe they got the wrong person!

that was about 5 years ago when i was 18! i have been there since but only twice and that was this year

Everyone I know seems to of had a bad experiance with air door staff/rhino security.

But I worked at a bar in stratford, where they used the same door staff, and I was actually really impressed. It was an all female bar team and there could be a lot of trouble, but they were really on the ball and professional.

In fact a few of them who I spoke to after the bar had closed actually had a sense of humour and were really nice! Apart from never letting me forgot when I dropped a tray of champange on my foot, ha.

It's such a shame that they can't apply that to when they work at air. Suppose it's because it's a much, much bigger job, meh.

I never had many problem with doormen except for a few minor glitches of them being very pedantic.

Back in the early days at my local Top Rank the rules to gain admission into the club was very draconian. Guys had to wear CJTs, that is Collars Jackets & Ties and if they didn't like what you wore, then by hook or by crook they would not let you in. There was one time I went to the Valbonne back in the 70s, they didn't like the jacket I once wore. " Sorry Sir , no jackets like that" The cheek of it!!!.

I don't suppose many of you remember those days do you...?

They did however let me in but this time but with a different jacket. Then ironocally there was a heatwave this perticular summer, they even advertised 'gentlemen are welcome with or even without jackets'.

There was one doorman at the Top Rank back in 1974 who was quite lethal...he was very stocky built and his hair was combed in a type of the old backfrack. He used to go round with his mates and he would address all the guys as "Skip" Like he would say "Awright Skip"

If the DJ had spotted trouble and called out the club "codeword" for trouble then this guy would duff up the anyone he saw if it looked like a fight even if it just was plain horse play.

That sort of behavior would never be allowed today, thank God.
..and yet he was OK to me. I had no trouble with him whatsoever.

There was another time in the 80s I got myself a pair of Dr Martens but these didn't have steel toe cap and this particular Tuesday night at Top Rank my friiend arranged for us to meet inside, this doorman decided not to let me in just because he didn't like the shoes I had on.

Then more recently one of the boys I used to work with had his leaving do and we all arranged to meet inside my so called local Walkabout so I dedcied to go to the do but when I got there again tone of the door men didn't like what I had on my feet. Being that id was a nice sunny evening and during the summer I decieded to wear some summer shoes not loke so called trainers again I was refused entry.

A few years ago I decied to retun to the night clubbing scene after a long abscence of twenty something years. I haven't been a punter since 1981. I decied to visit Escape and there I had no trouble whatsoever. Last year I even visited Hidden Club in London last August 2006 the doormen there searched me and they went through my things with a fine tooth comb but did let me in, other than that I had no problem at all.

When I was doing the rounds at the Bars Pubs & Clubs from 1973 to 1990 I worked with some of the best doormen in my home town. I worked in places like Castaways, Onedins, Tramms, Dee Tees, The Cavalier. There was one guy who was built like a brick shit-house and was one of the best doormen I've ever worked with.

When things were quiet they would ask me to play some tunes for them and the night would turn into something like a Doomans convention.

It all depends who you know and if they like your face, it does help...

Please could you PM me the details to report the doorstaff at The Que Club too? Many thanks.

Presumably the more people who complain, the more notice that will be taken of it.

Also, I have tried to find The Que Club's website to e-mail them directly but no joy so far. Has anyone found an e-mail address for them? Would appreciate it, if so.

Thanks.

You should have you fool lol...

The same door company does the whole of christchurch and the owner of that company used to be head door at spearmint rhino... And we all know the rep the doormen had there... That company really does need sorting out.

p.s. I was offered a job with them but turned it down :)

Rock Steady in Glasgow (especially at fantazia where thousands of people go)

They have no control over the crowd, in the main arena staff were left alone without radios to try and control the crowd. They were rude, undertrained, sick of there jobs, didnt care. Didnt stop peopling climbing places they shouldnt, or throwing stuff at the stage - didnt show any care towards the public. Bad bad company...wouldnt hire them if they paid me.
