The SIA making a BIG cock up...
Well... It happened to me and i have found out it happened to hundreds of others...

The SIA are the governing body responsible for ensuring all the Doormen in the UK are fully trained an legal to work the dorrs... to protect you, the general public.

Around now most doormens SIA licences will be expiring and they will no longer be able to work, so we had to re-aply months ago (as i did) but the SIA (due to constanly changing there re-aplication policy) Have lost hundreds of aplication forms making many doormen unable to work...

So the SIA made a big cock up and realised what they did... So they have said... Al people that have applied for a licence and had one for the past three years can cary on woking until the SIA decide oherwise...

This means the SIA are letting hundreds of un-licenced door supervisors work the dors at the venues you go to! Are you happy about this?

I personally lost 14 days work beause of this cock up and now im having to sell my Wii on ebay so i can pay this months rent :( (ask me for a link if you interested ;)

So how do you fel about this?? Want to let the SIA knw how you feel... I definatly do.. and i have... Wanna do the same?? Well... now you can...

If you click on THIS LINK it will take you to the SIA coments and complaints page.

Feel free to let them know... Please invite buddies to this :D

Ahh this explains a lot to do with my boyfriends change (or rather abrupt stop) of career.

The SIA deals with other groups as well as doormen, doesn't it?

Yeah they cover all aspects... From stewards to car clampers.

hmmm not quite sure about this one! dont think its very good but if they have been at the same venue for god knows how long then its ok coz ppl dont exactly go up to them and ask to see their badge! i dont really think anything will be any different with them being without the badge

Yeah i guess it makes no real difference if you're talking about 'resident' door staff, its the ones working the doors in pubs that worry me cos they're happy to chuck in a puinch or two at the best of times, so when they haven't even got a licence to loose it seems they have a licence to punch.

One the applications are processed you get a number, which you can use until the card comes through. Since its SIA's fault, id be suprised if they were being harsh with the licence checking.
