So did anyone watch this? What an absolute nutcase! There's something very sinister about the way he died, almost suicidal. He left a legacy of great footage though.

Oh yeah he was a complete tool - when he was going off on his rant and slating the Park Service I just wanted a Grizzly to come into shot and rip his head off. And when the fox stole his cap and he started whining like a little bitch - that was priceless.

I do wonder how much of that was down to him being on his own for long periods of time. I think he had problems and he went out to the wild like that to get away from society, facing human contact, etc.

To have survived as long as he did is one thing that struck a cord. He obviously knew what he was doing but just couldn't take into account he shouldn't of been there that season as he normally was. With food short and strange bears moving into the area he was better off out of it.

I guess that is easy for us to say from the comfort of a British armchair ;)
