A Nightmare On Elm Street
I really don't see the point in this remake.
By the looks of the trailer, it doesn't look like they've done anything new with it.

I'm not joking! I was petrified of going to sleep for years afterwards... and if he flicks up on the telly now, I have to look away.

wow! I always saw them as a bit of a comedy.
The only film that scared me as a child was The Entity, and that program on BBC for Halloween, I think it was called Ghost Watch, that freaked me out a bit.

I still hate Sarah Green for what she did to me.

First Nightmare was good. I think the sequels that followed (as they did for other horror franchises) probably ruined that initial experience. Looks like they've gone for a more realistic burns make-up and maybe, probably to the film's detriment, fiddled with the origin to make Freddy more sympathetic. If they haven't, it's a poorly edited trailer as it looks like there's doubt as to whether he's actually a kiddly fiddler in this version.

I watched it with my folks and it still scared the hell out of me! I went to bed that night convinced i could hear footsteps walking back and forth across our landing. I didn't even believe my mum when she told me the next day that they had announced later that night that it had all been a hoax. Took me years before i was finally convinced it wasn't real lol

I remember that too! They made it out to be a serious programme so as a young kid I was convinced!! The bit with the camera in the bedroom when all the room started shaking freaked me out, and when you saw a fleeting glimpse of the 'ghost' up against the wall as the camera panned across!

Watched it again on DVD the other day and and unsurprising it aint as good as I remember!

As for Nightmare on Elm Street, can they think of something original?? They were great films but don't need to be re-made - if it aint broken don't fix it.

Next you'll be telling me they've re-made Halloween and the Texas chainsaw massacre,

oh wait................

Yeah i've watched clips back on YouTube, and it's so hilarious, i can't believe i was so scared at the time lol. So many people were outraged by the show though, have a look on YouTube - we weren't the only ones who got messed up by it!
