ok not sure if DSI has disabled the coding so u can get your email as a clickable link which will open up outlook or other email client once u click the link. have tried diffrent variations of the html code but no look yet!!

seems That DSI are disabling coding that would help people out and make there lives easier but then adding usless stuff to the site that is hindering people ie. the new look with inbox update pop ups etc the java file that has to load is nearly 4mb and slowing the site down drematically for loads of people which is a main reason a good majority of people are starting to use DSI less and less. Take the usless stuff off & add the simple stuff that will make life easy for people!!!

What 4MB java file?

email link works fine for me.

when you load www.dontstay in the front page is almost 4mb quite a hefty page for people to load. people may have 50mb broadband but then u got people that can only recive the low end of broadband and the few that are still on dial up (poor fuckers).

everytime the site loads my java prog loads so im presuming that most of the increase in front page size is due to the new features (do they work off java?)

since the new features have gone on DSI like the Pop up inbox, chat and all the other alerts have been on here the site has got very very slow for a good few people those on high end broadband dont feel it but those who are on low - mid range broadband seem to feel it especially those using wireless as you dont get full speed through wirless.

How often do you visit the homepage? and are you using the chat properly? Unpin and unstar unwanted alerts.

Dont use the chat its too laggy and i use the site every day its my homepage at home and work, I run a company that needs DSI & other websites like it for promotion tools. back in July - oct 08 shouldnt admit it but i was using the site about 7hrs a day (DSI legends & addicts listings). My cookies, Browsing History and everything is cleared daily.


yeah all of them are off doesnt really make a diffrence if there on or off as the file still has to load. It's a major problem that has lost the site alot of people as they cant be bothered with wasting time waiting foer the site to load and even when the site does load sometimes when its on a right slowmo youll be missing all the yellow boxes u'll just have the background and the txt no yellow or grey or white boxes.

If DSI were to take a look at there hit figures after they added all this stuff to the site they will notice that shortly after the new features were added figures have slowly dropped for hits. before the new features and massive page files that have to be loaded to let the new features work between 12pm - 2.30pm the site was seeing between 400 - 700 users online, now the new features have been installed and the site has become majorly slow for a good majority of them, they have stopped using the site and they will notice figures between the above times have dropped to between 200 & 300. same for evening time use users online at peak times have dropped between 40% - 50%

Inbox Updates - I mean come on who needs inbox updates it annoying enough that you get so much usless mail maybe the odd thing you want to read but thats it so why do you want to be clicking these god damn boxes off the screen allerting you to the fact you got more crap in your mail box majority of people that i speak to hate the feature and think its more annoying than good, and a good majority of people still to this day have to be told how to switch it off.

New privite chat - try a separate pop- out screen thats not loaded to the the main page.

Buddy alerts - WTF?!!! who the fuck uses them? 5% - 10% of DSI's users? really whats the point!!!


Everything that has been added to the site to try and make it better has lost DSI alot of custom and it really does look like DSI is struggeling to keep their head above water. So stage 1 find more advertising space & the BORED? WATCH THIS! section was born (probably a deal pulled with a media company on pay per view advertising) . yet again adding more memmory to the site load up and slowing the site down even more (pissing off more people with the slowness & losing yet more people). Then the change from the occasional advertising on the page background to constant advertising on the page background. next it will be either come up with some more unique features or find more advertising or sell up leave the problem to another company to work out. the changes are an obvious signal to the fact DSI are struggeling even though everyone loves the site they cant put up wioth the speed issues.

would be so simple to for DSI to of made money without adding these slow features there are atleast another 6 features which could be added to the site to make a constant flow of cash and still could be & when i say constant flow of cash i mean certain features on this site would earn DSI millions more than they ever had!


As I mentioned b4 I used to use this site alot for promotion but now im on it hardly ever as no one really uses it. post a topic its harder to get replys, events i run on DSI used to have a shed load of people click they will be there now ur lucky if 20 people click it. People are m,oving to other sites to do ther promotion not going to name the main site but you know which site it is as within a day you get more people click you'll be there than when you did it ever on DSI

Simple solutions to this sites problems are being over looked and the more complicated ones being put in which atre having the reverse effect and loosing DSI more custom. We dont wanna see this site go down the drain but if somethings not done its not going to be worth using whith s little users

I know people that use them because they don't clear their inbox properly

Personally the only thing you metioned that bothers me sometimes is the watch this box. I just ignore it now. My homebroadband only gets 512 as we are over 5 miles from the exchange and I just accept that DSI is slow becuase it is feature packed. Most of which I use or am glad are there for when i do want to.

Why would anyone ever scroll down that far unless they wanted to watch it?

still the way its been done has slowed the site down there are more simple ways of doing it that doesnt require the 4mb page everytime. there are a few things i know that are happening with DSI which means they cant be arse to fix the problem or they just cant solve it.

It's the watch this screen that slowed the site down. I seem to remember the day it was introduced, everything went like a snail. It is better now tho.
