Them's the rules

There seems to be some confusion over what the rules of DSI are as enforced by the site moderators (as directed by the site admins). Note that the following applies only to actions by site moderators (not the moderators of groups - since they enforce their group rules as they see fit).

For the sake of the sanity of myself and the other site moderators here are the rules of DSI, along with some explanations, along with what'll happen to you if you break them...

Please note that the site rules below are updated from time to time and this page may not contain the "latest and greatest" version - if you are contacted by a moderator after breaking a rule they will explain what is going on...

If you are posting an image that could be classed as "not safe for work" then please LINK to the image and add put (NSFW) next to the description of the image.

Chat and posting rules

Your comments will be deleted if they:
  • Contain 'hardcore' pornographic images
  • Have racist content
  • That contain homophobic content
  • Contain 'shock' photos
  • That are repeated in many threads
  • Are obvious spam - e.g. pyramid schemes

Moderators will NOT delete comments
  • Because they are rude
  • Because they are annoying
  • Because they are insulting (unless they breach one of the other rules at the same time)

In short if people want to make a fool of themselves we won't stop them, so please don't ask us to! Just ignore them and eventually undesirables will go away (or break a rule that does get them banned!)

You will get a warning if you:
  • "chat-spam" (i.e post loads of garbled messages in chat one after the other)
  • Fail to class links as "NSFW"
  • Steal someone's identity by spotting yourselves in someone else's photos (we will confirm with the real person in the photos first)

You WILL be banned if you:
  • Post 'hardcore' pornographic images
  • Repeatedly post racist comments
  • Repeatedly post homophobic comments
  • Repeatedly post 'shock' images
  • Repeatedly fail to class links as NSFW
  • Spam the groups by posting the same message repeatedly or across groups
  • Post obvious spam - e.g. pyramid schemes
  • Spam chat by posting the same message (or link) repeatedly
  • Flood live-chat by chatting like
    t
    h
    i
    s
  • Ignore a warning message for more than 4 hours

The only other rule is that your profile picture MUST include your face! If not it will be deleted (and you'll annoy the site admins as it is them that have to do this!)

Note that the rules regarding picture uploads are given below.

To keep this post "information rich" I have closed it - if you wish to discuss the rules then please feel free to do so in the Don't Stay In Website Group.
