Summer Transfer Window
So as squeeky bum time draws to an end, deals are being made and transfer talk is eveywhere.

Who do you want, who's coming in, and who do you want out.

Chelsea have already got Marin, the German international, set up for next season. A very good buy IMO.

Still want to see Hulk come in.

Surely his green skin and over sized feet will play havoc with the styling of the Chelsea strip?

I'll get my coat..

We haven't actually even signed Oscar yet I think SSN jumped the gun a bit!

Hulk I don't think is coming now, I'd bet against his arrival now.

£9m bid from us for Paulinho from Corinthians. Can't help but think 'meh!' to be honest!

This Carroll saga is a bit of a joke. Why Newcastle want him back when they have the Sengalese hitmen I'll never know.

This Carroll saga is a bit of a joke.

Rodgers said yesterday, "To consider a loan period for someone the club spent £35million on isn't something we're looking to do at this moment in time .. Andy will be the same as every other player - if there's ever an offer that comes in we'd look at it as a club and see if it's going to be worthwhile for the club and the team as a whole .. people talk about whether he can fit into my style or not, but if you're a club and you spend £35million on a player you'd like to think he can fit into whatever style the team plays."

Not exactly high praise for Carroll ..

He is obviously fairly pissed off that the coffers are closed for him despite Rafa and Kenny wasting hundreds of millions on duds. Rodgers obviously likes it played to feet and he is simply a big target man so it's not looking good for him.

The press are reporting that Carroll will be sold for no less than £20mil. So that works out to just over £2mil a goal for him, no?

It's made to look better by the fact that Torres has been so pony since leaving, if he had been banging them in there would be some pissed scousers!

Yep, thank fuck for shit Torres! Personally I think we should give Carroll at least a chance, he's shown a bit of form lately and has never been given a decent run of games to show what he can do.

He's a target man though. Not the style of play Rodgers wants, and when someone like that is on the pitch, it always ends up going long. If it doesn't, he's not good enough at the feet to control, hold and distribute well enough to fit in.

I think you're probably right, but he hasn't even trained with the squad yet, so nobody knows if he can fit in or not. Also we've sold Kuyt, and Suarez won't be ready for the start of the season due to the Olympics, so if Bellamy and Carroll go then the only striker we have is Borini!

Do you think it needs proving that he can't play to feet?

No. Athletic Bilboa are an exception to this rule; I am sure there are other teams who can adapt to it too. Just because it's the archetypal way to play with a big man, doesn't mean it has to be done.

Carroll has also shown in the last few games of the season that he does have good footwork. So why Rodgers couldn't find a way of adapting Carroll into the doesn't seem that difficult to me.

Really? he scored a couple of headers no? certainly not the linked play in confined space that Rodgers will want anyway.

I'd like to see what he can do in a team that is not set up wholly to pump the ball up to him, yes.

Plus it's always good to have a plan B .. we know Barca can pass the ball around all day, doesn't mean you'll win the game though.

I'd like to see that too. Can't see it working though. He is an old fashioned forward that scores from service.

He was getting a few assists and providing link up play for the midfielders and wingers.

Their games against Chelsea being prime example of this.
