Not really berbs will go for sure....Keano will stay

Yeah I know Berbs will go, thats what makes it so unbelievable that the management would be willing to let both pieces of a 50 goal partnership just disappear.

What worries me is Keanes silence.

When there is no speculation about his future he always states how much he loves the club and how he's 'at home'.

Not just Keanes.. but the club too... Whilst I understand they cant spend their time denying all the rumours I think there are some.. such as this that they should come out and say exactly what is happening !

Definitely. Another spurs fan has said that we suddenly look like going from an excellent transfer window into 'what the fuck?!' scenario.

Another transition season then.

Actually, fuck it we'll clearly win the league now.

This quote is given to all Spurs managers when they arrive ! I remember Gerry Francis said it in his 1st Programme notes... and we've been in transition since.... Only Spurs could mug themselves off in this way and continue to make themselves a laughing stock... If there wasn't so much turmoil in Goonerland our scenario would be funnier ;0)

Granted.

Its still a bit distressing though.

The newspapers seem to be assuming that Santos is a striker when Id been led to believe he'd be solving our left sided problem, any idea?

Also, do you reckon we'll be seeing a bit more of Taarabt this season?

Why is it, at end of last seaosn poyet/ramos said there would be 7 or 8 new faces in the team next season..

We have always known berbs would leave, so thats not a shock, all we want is a decent and fair price when other tools are going for silly money so should he as is world class, somebody like adebayor isnt and never will be...

keane is a shock, IF he goes as your losing 50 goals a season partnership and possibly the best partnership in the premiership for past years

santos plays in mid-field he is not a striker, maybe ramos is trying to change him who knows, were not on the training ground to see whatever

Yeah he's a more of a winger than a striker. He's a lefty so could play left of midfield or right wing as he used to fill in when Messi wasn't about. Barca let him go though as Krkic is now coming throuigh and is looking an amazing talent and is still very young (17) so he was kinda surplus to requirements.

I can't believe clubs aren't queuing up for Eto, he's one of the best strikers in the world!

they must still think he has potential as they put a buy back clause into his contract should he leave us (when)

His agent had said he only wants to play for 2 or 3 teams and they dont want him

Hang on a minute... Ramos came to Spurs with a big reputation in Spain. He got us to the Carling Cup final after Jol had done most of the work... Any team with a new manager raises their game and he benefited at the time from that with the games he had coming up. After the Carling cup final we were awful.

The signings so far seem good but we have seen before foreign players can often struggle in the Premiership. I think Juande Ramos and his team should be judged on their performances after Xmas and again at the end of the season.

The selling of the clubs two best strikers for decades (IF they happen) tells me that Spurs management and those in the boardroom have no intention of breaking the top 4 and are happy to maintain Premiership status with good cup runs in the CARLING/ FA and UEFA.......

So is he definitely leaving Barca then? I really don't understand that club sometimes. Hasn't he been their top scorer for the last 2 or 3 seasons?

Spot on. If I remember rightly just before it went tits up Jol was being hailed as a god by many a spurs fan.

Spurs ones in particular ! You're right Jason. Martin Jol was indeed revered as a god at WHL that didn't last and I doubt the board will have patience with Ramos if he doesn't win something this season...

Bets on Sven or Avram Grant as Spurs manager New Year '09 ?

Avram Grant as Spurs manager

Would be interesting to see how well he does without a squad of well established superstars to inherit.

No offence Spurs fans

Hang on a minute. Thats not strictly true. Everyone at spurs loved Jol and rightly so (I still do) because he achieved something huge at spurs. But we loved Paul Robinson too even with his flaws.

We all knew that Jol seemed to lack anything defensive to his coaching and that needed addressing. It didnt get addressed, and although the whole Jol sacking thing could have gone more smoothly, most people at the time thought it was a good idea to bring Ramos, (with his fantastic record in Spain), in. The timing was when it was because our season was going off the rails and if we'd waited around Ramos would have been snapped up by someone else.
