Eh up. Where's the thread for this then? Just been reading the preview on GAME and wondered what the early reviews say?

Im really struggling to get into this. The compass is absolutely pathetic and the maps are fucking shit, im sick as fuck of wandering around trying to find places that are shown on the map/compass. Its boring as fuck having to walk around countless buildings and piles of rubble - surely the map should show you the routes available to get to the different points? Really not getting it atm.

It does. You can set markers.

I know that but it goes you no guidance around obstackes etc, like austin said earlier in the thread - you waste ages wandering around looking for ways through / over buidings and shit to get to your marker / quest marker. Decent game but so fucking frustrating at times.

It can get frustrating, but that wandering around looking for the objective is all part of the game. You find loads of new stuff that way.

Trust me Steve, as a non gamer. I felt that at first, but you get used to it so quickly. Flicking between local and world map helps too. Local map gives you a much better idea of obstacles.

It took me over 50 hours of gamepley to realise there was a compass and markers ffs. I was really just walking around without a clue.

You should be able to find your way around soon. My first play was 20hrs and I was pretty lost myself. AFter that I started again with an idea where to go and what to do and then I really started enjoying the game. The map is actually very good imho and once start marking the locations on your map and fast traveling between them you will stop getting the impression that the map is really that big.

Because I'm an idiot, like yourself.

To get around downtown DC (the place I was having problems with) you must take the subway lines.

When in the actual wasteland I never really had any problems, except when trying to find Agatha's and the Oasis.

Still not played this game since I got my box back. Will start again soon. Just been rinsing Skate to much.

same here ...oh and the Enclave base!! took me ages to find the door for that - and it was locked! can only access it during that one mission which i hadn't reached.

in most cases though the compass markers will lead you to new locations without any major obstacles. there is a perk to reveal all locations on the map but it's not available until level 20.

once you've visited a location you can quick-travel to it from the map which is very handy.

it probably doesn't happen until you've already discovered the locations, but the map does show multiple waypoints (ie routes) through the capital. does look a bit messy though. to be honest the interior maps are a bit dodgy too.

Bethesda just made the release date of Fallout 3's second DLC pack, "The Pitt," officially official: Tuesday, March 24. Like last month's "Operation: Anchorage," the upcoming DLC will come in at 800 ($10) on Xbox 360 and Games for Windows Live simultaneously. Also, Pete Hines from Bethesda confirmed that the recently released patch for the game "is specific to DLC and is required to play The Pitt. It doesn't address anything with the base game outside of that."

Vault 101 - Dad's medical table. It can be obtained before you take your G.O.A.T., during your escape from the vault or during your brief (optional) return to Vault 101 .

So I cant get this one anymore?
