In this thread I'd like people to explain some of their favourite gaming masterpiece moments and explain why.

I have just come off the Xbox forums where I have been told that the 1000 Years of Dreams sections in Lost Odyssye were a waste of time. Shock horror I hear you cry!
For anyone who hasn't played it I'd like to explain why it helps make LO one of the best if not the best JRPG on our current generation of consoles.

You play an immortal character who has had his memory wipe for some parts in LO, and with certain actions in the game you unlock forgotton memories. Instead of flassy cutscenes or boring sections with a ton of dialouge boxes you are asked to read anywhere between fifteen to fifty pages of superbly written text, matching that of some great books I have read. Behind that is simple backdrops, sometimes not even a picture, just brilliant artisty. This coupled with class music is why LO is a true modern masterpiece.

I reccommend this to anybody who loves JRPG's or for people who want to try something different.

Yeah, early next year I think the price will lower again, soon after I may get one.

It's so annoying not being able to play online for free, pisses me off badly, i've not got a lot of money and my dj'n comes first, so no money to pay for pissy xbox live lol, do you pay to play online on any other console? no.

there's been speculation of the XBL subs fees increasing too.

a spokesman for MS said "I don't foresee a scenario where we're going to double the price of Live any time in the next couple months" which isn't very reassuring for 2010.

re: Yakuza 3 - even if there was a 360 version of the Japanese game (or the forthcoming Yak 4) it still wouldn't be any use to you since the 360 is region-locked...

Did anyone ever play Crackdown? I fucking loved that game. Bit hectic at first but once youre into it the carnage is amazing fun. Plus you cant beat looking for the green orbs to let you jump higher and higher over buildings.

I only ask because I saw an ad for Crackdown 2 and will be one of the first in line to get it.

played it once at my mate's before he saw the error of his ways and got a PS3 instead. ;)

it was a lot of fun, and looked great on his big telly too. 8)
