GTAIV - The Ballad of Gay Tony
So who's got it on DL? Mine's on the way right now. Will post up some info later once I have had a bash.

Will post some stuff up about Magna Carto 2 too later, as that has just come in the post.

As its an add-on is it going to be a smaller game?

The game world and most of the options are the same, it is slightly shorter in play time.

I never got round to playing that - is it any good compared to GTA IV

I would recommend getting them both as DLC as it's cheaper.

They are both good titles (not played much of GT yet though), and they provide a different style to Nico's story. Both have brilliant scripting and voice acting. The missions resemble those of the main game but add their own twist.
If you enjoy GTAIV then they are definalty worth getting.

Review by David Jenkins - We're not sure if Microsoft feels it got its money's worth from the two Grand Theft Auto IV expansions (after paying $50m to make them 360 exclusives) but fans have had little to complain about.

We reviewed The Lost And Damned when it first came out: tinyurl.com/ykxfjpk

So for now we'll dedicate this review to the newer half of the Episodes From Liberty City compilation.

While The Lost And Damned featured another one of Rockstar's ever so serious gangster narratives this is a clear attempt to get back to some of the sillier excesses of San Andreas.

Although not necessarily in terms of the story, which casts you as Luis Lopez, bodyguard to the eponymous Tony.

Which means you get a lot of macho posturing in a trendy nightclub setting rather than with a biker gang.

Despite what you might imagine from the name this doesn't dwell too long on Tony's sexual preferences.

Rather than homophobic undertones it's the increased casual racism (Luis is black) that proves more disturbing.

Outside of the radio and TV shows Rockstar's scripting is becoming a little stale and predictable, although it's saved by a great turn by Omid Djalili as a millionaire playboy.

The real stars here though are the wide range of purposefully unrealistic missions, which take the old drive-somewhere-and-kill-someone structure to outrageous new heights.

Good use is made of both a new helicopter gunship and a tank-like armoured personal carrier.

The new parachute is just as much fun though, allowing you to skydive or base jump from any building or vehicle.

There's also a range of new weapons, the most amusing of which by far is the aptly named explosive shotgun.

It's the missions themselves that impress the most though, from a helicopter attack on a luxury yacht to a mission to steal a tube train.

There are some great races too, with one that manages to involve a helicopter, parachute, boat and car all in the same challenge.

The ambition of the missions cannot be faulted, largely silencing criticisms that GTA IV had become too realistic.

However the controls, particularly on foot and in helicopters, struggle to keep up. Compared to newer third person games like Uncharted 2 movement and combat feels clunky and unintuitive.

As a send off for GTA IV this works very well, but we're already more excited to see what comes next.

IN SHORT: Generously-sized expansion, which despite increasingly rough edges has some of the best missions yet.

PROS: Imaginative mission designs which makes great use of the new features such as parachuting and the APC.

CONS: The clunky controls are really showing their age. Despite some fun characters the story lacks interest.

SCORE: 8/10 Out: Now (UK)

I reckon this should be pretty good, especially as i haven't played GTA IV for ages now, so it'll be like a new game as i can't remember my way around the city that much - also for £25 this costs less than a few beers and a curry!

this is good news. i'd guessed from the TV ads that there was more of a fun factor in this one.
