We have been on air for almost a year now, starting in Feb 2007, but now were here at DSI to bring you a fortnightly dose of FREE electro! See the myspace link below for archived shows and exclusive mixes!
2007 ssw Rob Kinetic and Stu N hosting their electro house show on Brap.FM entitled Electrofied. Brap.FM is a Brighton based internet radio station which has been live since November 2006 but already within that short time was nominated for best station in Breakspoll 2007 (and got damn near to winning!). Electrofied has very quickly become one of the stations most popular shows with listeners from as far a field as Brazil and Australia! Always filling their show with the freshest cuts has made the weekly playlist, available on the Brap.Fm website, a must for anyone involved in the electro scene. The pair are proud to have some of the scenes most prominent figures among their regular listeners including Nino Anthony, Stuart Bridges of NYC’s Kult records, DJ Marbrax, The Handle Brothers and Tony Thomas. Indeed Stuart Bridges was so impressed by the quality of the show he asked to appear as a guest in October and will now regularly supply exclusive mixes.
Music Production and Label Affiliates:
In 1999 Rob formed a production partnership with Brighton producer Adam Aaren a.k.a. ‘A-Double'. Over the last 6 years, that partnership has seen productions of drum & bass, UK garage and house music. Working solely on Electro house since 2006 under the guise ‘The Z-Listers’, the pair have already had their first two digital releases on OhMy! Records. A track entitled ‘Let It Go’ followed by a remix of SophieDJ’s ‘Piano Drop‘. On hearing a co production between Per QX and The Z-Listers, Tony Thomas quickly signed their next four tracks to his Cubic digital label the first of which was released on 6th December with remixes by himself and Nino Anthony to follow. There is also an EP on Nino Anthony’s Portamento label due in March, plus the duo are currently working on remixes of two of Nino’s tracks.
Residencies, Gigs and Bookings
It’s not all studio or radio work for Rob and Stu, this talented duo have always remained close to their roots by playing at live events around the south coast. It was with the early sounds of UK rave and jungle that they cut their teeth playing out and as their popularity grew they were given residencies to bring their sound to a wider audience showcasing their talents to yet more clubbers and promoters. The pair remained busy throughout the nineties with residencies under various guises at the legendary Steppaz Convention drum & bass night, as well as appearances at Atomics, Jungle Pressure, and Lunarcy. Rob also enjoyed regular sets on DJ Quantum’s drum n bass show on Brighton ’s Juice FM during 1998 and 1999.
More recently they were the natural choice to launch Brap.Fm’s very own monthly night ‘Crunchtown‘. The success of this led to a monthly residency for the pair at a new night called ‘Flow’ held in Brighton which showcases the leading talent in the city. The Z-Listers blew away the crowds at 'Beat Circus' in October with a live DJ/keyboard set, the promoters saying they were the best act they have booked so far this year. Then for the massive 'Strawberry Jamm afterparty' the bosses at Brap.Fm called on the pair again. They asked Stu to showcase their most popular show and he delivered a set which is quickly becoming legendary, and Rob again with Adam Aaren to play The Z-Listers who showed once again they are more than able to present live electro house.
