What is Freeform POWER?

DJ/Producer: Solution

Solution’s love for music spans back over 12 years ago where he developed a passion and desire for a large variety of music ranging from Dance/Hard House to Metal/Rock and more recently Hardcore/Freeform/Gabber. About 6 years ago Solution discovered the Hardcore scene and found it inspirational with the variety of sounds, since then, this is what he has been mixing as a DJ and is heavily influenced by underground music. During this time he had many ideas of making his own music but no experience.

Then in 2007, he met Alex McDougall (1 half of Ephexis) and this gave him the opportunity to learn music production by going into the Ephexis studio for tuition. He used Alex’s skills and knowledge to develop his own ideas and from this came up with his first completed project in early 2008. Solution + Ephexis – Pressure Point which has been signed to Nu Energy Records and reviewed in the Core Magazine by Joey Riot describing the track as ‘wicked peak time freeform’. He has now got his own studio set up and will be putting effort into making his own tracks.

As mentioned above, Solution is also a DJ and has been booked across the UK at events like Natural Born Ravers(Dance Island 2008), Fusion, Who’s Hardcore, Hard South and Totally A’rdcore plus loads more and is starting to get bookings abroad. He has played alongside all of the biggest names in Hardcore. He also is a resident at ADT Presents and has been selected for the newly created Spit n Spin DJ Agency. He puts 110% into every set he plays, regardless of the size of the night and is known for his seamless mixing and cutting abilities and rocks the crowd everytime! His main styles are hardcore and freeform, ranging from bouncy basslines to the full on purist sound.

The future looks good for Solution as he looks to continue to develop his production ability and write his own music and has planned to collaborate with other Artists/MC’s. He also looks to continue to DJ across the UK and would love to play in other countries like Finland and Australia.

DJ/Producer: Flame

Music is a main part of Flame’s life and she has been involved in making and playing music for the last 5 years. Growing up in a musical family she soon developed a keen interest in music from a young age. Flame had always been fanatical and listened to a wide range of music both underground and commercial in her teens. Having played an array of instruments including the piano at school, it was only natural for her to purchase her first decks at 18 when she had also developed an unhealthy obsession with underground dance music.

As soon as Flame finished her studies at University she was eager to produce her own material. Recently she teamed up with Chrysus (Michael Dow) to bring her own style of hardcore to the masses. Heavily influenced by Trance and Hard Dance her productions reflect this in the epic ‘Future Hero’ and ‘Numb Hardcore’ which also both appear on the forthcoming Freeformation album. Flame has plenty more projects planned for the future with other up and coming artists and also plans to pursue individual projects. Inspiration from old skool trance and hard house contribute to her productions and she enjoys other styles of dance music such as hard dance and drum and bass.

DJing is a big part of Flame’s life at the moment. Having played mainly in hard dance clubs over the last 5 years she has now started appearing at hardcore nights across the country, where she is known for her technical ability and top tunes. Her style varies from driving freeform to hard bouncy bass lines with plenty of break beat thrown in as well. Flame plans to continue her involvement in the scene into 2008 putting more time into her own productions and generally loving the music and enjoying life to the full!
