Be warned - the following clients need to named for bad payment.

1. ANDY NORTHROP (RHYTHM AT WORK, CAMBRIDGE) - Invoiced NOV 2007.
Pretends to be someone else when he answers the phone at his work place at Doubletree Hotel, Cambridge. Has made no effort to even pay a penny, even though I once considered him a friend.

2. WINSTON YOUNG (THE TELEGRAPH, BRIXTON) - Invoices JUN 2007. Has made no effort to pay, and wen I go to the Telegraph, he claims to have no money even though he has a million pound property. He likes to build up credit, then liquidates the company, wiping all debts. He has done this twice in the last four years. It's because of people like Winston that we have a credit crunch.

3. MARK WILKINSON (KIDOLOGY) - Invoiced JAN 2009. Admittedly keeps good communication, and he has paid off some of the initial debt, all be it in drips and drabs, but he still owes a considerable amount, and it's almost 6 months since my request for payment.


HOW TO ENSURE YOU GET PAID
As a rule, I never send final PDF artwork or eflyers (without "SAMPLE" in a tint written on it), until the money is in my hand, bank or PAYPAL account. Even if you've known them for years, (as with the my list above), people will still fuck you over.
Never send logo's without an upfront payment, or send so small that they are unusable. Ensure "SAMPLE" is also written across them.



Has anyone got any other ways they ensure they get paid?

Just thought I would give you a quick update:

Berlin was tough, OMG so tough, I was doing well & did the first half in 2 hours 2 minutes, but then disaster struck as I cramped up at 15 miles and had to limp the rest of the way home :(

The right leg went first & I remember smiling & thinking to myself that there's no way I wasn't going to finish this thing, and I was right, I just made sure I took it easy when I had too otherwise I might have ended up on a stretcher, and there's no glamour there let me tell you!

So, post 15 miles the highlights of my day were stopping off at 19 and then again @ 22 miles to get a total of 4 attractive young ladies to massage my legs at the side of the road, honestly it was much needed & defo helped me through the pain! I told a mate about that yesterday and he asked me where the motivation came from to get off the bed and finish the race? I had to laugh, and to be honest I'm not 100% sure of the answer! :)

Anyway, at least I finished and raised more money for Charity, I also learnt some stuff, like dont attempt a full Marathon AFTER a full Summer season in Ibiza!

Still, I am in the London Marathon next year on April 22, and will train my arse off for that one, starting now :)

In the meantime, if you can sponsor me for either of these great causes I would appreciate it no end

Yeh I know he seems to be doing a Marathon every other week. He plans to raise £1,000,000 pounds for Charity - no doubt after expenses, hotels, holidays, luxury cruises, mortgages etc.
Some have been saying its all a big con, but I say good luck to him, and please give generously then he pay off some of his debts!!

No Mark Wilkinson hasn't paid yet! and got pretty irate once he found his name on the Name & Shame page on Facebook. He seems to pay £50 every 3-4 months. He's got it down to £150 owing, although like a lot of people he's had a bad year. Still £150 i fuck all!

The money he owes me for is from 3 events at Pacha for production, promotion, and International DJs.
The design & DJ work always got paid, apart from a few where I had another gig, and had to leave early. He's promised after NYE that it will be paid in full. It's into four figures now. It was five figures but he paid half of it in Summer. He'll pay, eventually, alot of it is my slackness though. If I'd have chased it at the time, it wouldn't have been a problem.
