Alrite guys! - Happy New year and I hope your both well and happy!

O.K - first off you’re both relatively young, and last year has seen you achieve a mighty lot indeed, in terms of progression within the hardcore circuit. Looking back over at 2008, how do you feel now, and horizons set on new and better things?- To both of you- Do you have any regrets!? What is your biggest happiness too, of 2008!?J

MC Reconize: “I’m really happy with the way things have gone, if I look back at the beginning of the year I was just trying to find my first booking which I got in May. Since then I haven’t looked back and have been getting booked almost every weekend so everything has just gone surprisingly brilliant!” :D

DJC: “I’ve just been so happy to carry on DJing to the Hardcore crowd and getting a larger than expected following, all my mates and all the others who have given me support and follow me to all my bookings, that has just been amazing in 2008! Regrets? Yeah, yeah ok, I clanged my first production when i played it out for the first time.”

Could you please tell us how you both first got into the hardcore music, and then how you both met and teamed up as Feel The Rush?

MC Reconize: “When I was at school and everyone was into pretty wank music, I used to stay up late trying to record something with a beat from the radio on my little cassette recorder. That was way before I knew what hardcore was, but I’ve always had a love for the music. I think its in my blood.”

DJ C: “I got convinced that I should mix the music I love, Hardcore by Random Rob, he said that I should mix Angel eyes. I bought a few Hardcore Vinyls and never looked back. Myself and Andy met because the same Random Rob rang me up asking if I wanted to do a radio show with some MC and I was bang up for it! So I went to Andy’s house and we did a set on some shitty decks. We decided to have another go at the radio round my house and it just worked from the off.”

Staying with this, when and where did you first perform as a double act? And how did you find out that you first clicked as a MC / D.J team?- I mean some times this takes time in finding out who you work well with!

MC Reconize: (Takes The Question!)
“Our first booking was in June 08 in Kettering, I don’t think our styles particularly matched (Me being a 100% Cheese monger) but we definitely share the passion and desire to achieve and will not stop at anything to spread the hardcore virus and make people Feel The Russsssh” ;)

I always like to ask people - what they think of the up and coming part of the scene. Both giving your own opinions, do you think that there IS enough being done to help the likes of your selves make a healthy step into it? And how hard have you actually found it?

MC Reconize: “ No I don’t. I think that allot of bookings tend to come down to who you know rather than how good you are, i think its hard for people to get that first chance. I am keen to change this and am in the process of doing something about it. Holding MC competitions (24th of Jan) and starting my own event, the first 1 kicking off on the 20th of February devoted to new talent”

DJ C: “ I think there are some really good up and coming artists out there with some absolutely awesome productions, its good to see the scenes prolonged future.”

What advice would you offer any new up and coming artist who is trying their hardest to get a foot in the door!?

MC Reconize: “ Just keep fuckin grafting, we just never stop. Every weekend if we’re not playing out then we’re at events handing out demos.”

DJ C: “ Other than that, just keep looking for something new, a different angle a new perspective, this scene is full of very, very open minded people who love to see something new.”

You are both happy and proud residents of the Legendary: Hyperbolic (based in Peterborough!)
How did you secure such a worthy residency, and how did you first find out about the H.B parties!?

MC Reconize: “ I actually first went to Hyperbolic with my sexy girlfriend Jenna and JC was already well established and I managed to get a set through a friend (MC Mellow-D) and I've been booked at every event since then. (Except 1 which I’m still annoyed about.)”

DJ C: “I first heard about Hyperbolic when Grantie was handing out flyers at 1 of the last Monthly Mayhems at the LEL and started going to the event whenever i could but i secretly always wanted to be on those decks lol. Then MC Spankey got me into the DJ comp, resulting in me being made resident. I’ve just got better and better since, causing my following to grow.”

Musically- what and also who are your main inspirations? (This may differ aimed at MC & D.J preferences!!) ;) - Please feel free to comment on other music and people that boost you up, outside the hardcore ride!

DJ C: “We actually don’t really like anything other than hardcore which is probably our biggest down fall! My main inspirations come from JB-C because he’s fucking sweet on the decks but also makes some of my favourite productions out of all the up n comers at The moment also i used to watch him when he was in the same position as me and now he’s doing fucking awesome!( I thought his name was so good that i just took a B out and made it into my name! :P ;D) Orbit 1 Coz he’s the tits! And obviously Gammer obviously, its obvious look at him, its obvious.”

MC Reconize: “I try to be as original in my style as possible, but storm is just amazing. The way he works the crowd is amazing. My other influences are enemy, he truly is the future of hardcore and has helped me so much in giving me advice, tips and the occasional kick up the arse!”

- Talking of which!!!. . . Do you have any hobbies and interests outside the hardcore scene? And do you ever get together with your ladies and go down the pub together!!?

MC Reconize: “Well JC is a Hippy. So he doesn’t drink much. So no. Hahaha!”

DJ C: “We do nothing but DJ, MC and produce. I don’t even sleep anymore :P! Only official Feel The Rush meetings will be done in the pub. Lol !”

Tell us more about - Feel the Rush!!! We touched on earlier about how you both teamed up. Are there any future style plans that you can tell us about? (IF there not too top secret that is!);) And musically -where are you heading?

MC Reconize: “The future of Feel The Rush. Well as I touched on before the first two dates for F.T.R events are now set, and we have really big plans for promoting ourselves as much as possible, and also promoting hardcore. We meet up regularly to discuss what events we will try to conquer and how we can improve ourselves.”

DJ C: “Everything we do is revolved around our live performances that we are always trying to improve. With Static and Enemy totally smashing up the Back to Back MCing at the moment, we think that there is a place in the scene for a fresh DJ and MC team.”

You both have performed up and down a large slice of the country! Not being too candid- where has really stood out for you, in terms of the ravers showing love and events- general consistent GOOD VIBES!?!!?

DJ C “For me there’s 1 place that we’ve played at that has a really amazing and consistent Vibe, obviously Hyperbolic, Obviously, its obvious init, just get down there and check it out, you’ll see that its........obvious.”

MC Recognize “Erm....basically Hyperbolic is untouched for atmosphere and good vibes, I’m really looking for another. But its a simple fact, closest is Future Hardcore - which is kind of same thing.”

To DJ C- hottest track in your C.D wallet at the moment?

DJ C: “There are some awesome tracks that I’m getting hold of at the minute, but sometimes the simplest are the best! All the Stylus and Audio Junkie tunes go down immense! Especially the most simplest of tracks Teknique, when that second break comes in i just see everyone going mad! Awesome! Sometimes its as simple as a tune just being a choon! Addiction by Inverse and Lumin8 is an absolute Dance floor smasher!”

Mr Reconize, hottest rhyme in your lyrical arsenal?

MC Reconize: “Ok here’s one that sums up where I am at the minute:
When I first heard hardcore, I knew I was infected
I knew exactly what I want,
Just didn’t know how to get it,
But now my course is set I’m cruising upward moving, forward grooving because I’m never stopping at nothing,
Deep down I know I’m going to make it, the reason for this is I put in the time and effort. I’m under no illusion I know just what it takes but I work hard play hard and wait for my breaks”

Haha!- verry good, very good indeed…!!!-
As a team, do you ever get together and just hype it up- with a good ol jam session in the studio?!- I have noticed MC Recognize dropping rhymes at the drop of a tune, after DJ C’s slammed it in at the drop!!! - A rush each and every!- Do you plan any thing like this?

(D.J C Takes the Question!)
DJ C: “I have always felt it so important to keep everything fresh when we do our live performances, we do get together and Jam as much as we can mostly on the radio but we never use these sessions to plan a live performance, the more you plan the more there is to go wrong! We haven’t been Jamming as much as we normally do at the moment, because I’m trying to polish my production skills, aye” :D

No bounds to both your talent as artists, last year saw you take to the studio and create: Together Forever. With D.J Prospect and also Feel The Rush, both high octane hardcore tracks with Together Forever getting a remix by Orbit1!! Do you have any more slammers in the pipeline? And what can we expect for this year in the way of new tuneage?!

(D.J C Steps Up Once again!)
DJ C: “We have been in the studio with Prospect again just the other day with a new vocalist that Andy scouted from Karaoke, working on a track that will be for live performances only so we can try and keep our sets as fresh as possible”

Sadly drawing this chapter of the interview to a close, do you have any funny stories, that you can share with us a tall from your time on the scene? You can change names to protect identities!!!… Feel free to share a joint story!

MC Reconize: “I just wanna share a couple of quotes with you form JC I’ve always found amusing:

"im always the girl of the relationship"
” : I hate DJs that play tunes everyone loves” Hahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DJ C: “Ha ha, not yet mate, I’ll keep ya posted!” ;P- "ermmmm......thanks Andy mate"

O.K - sadly it has come the time where we have to say good bye, and we’ll meet up for a quick pint at the next event!- BUT!- Before we do all that, could you both please leave us with some of your well found words of hardcore wisdom!:

MC Reconize: "Dont eat yellow snow, or red snow with a string attached"

DJ C: “FEEL THE RUSH
