I have been awaiting the next contender with much anticipation.
Having been on the scene now since 2006, actively again and likewise for my Don’t Stay In mark too it would be only natural to have heard of him. A producer that is bound with original style flair and class- already work being credited to the likes of TRUE HARDCORE, Marie Louise, Force & Himbo- the list goes on!
A year or so ago believe it or not he debuted at his first ever live D.J booking at the mighty Chemical Generation in Swindon, which saw him smash the atoms out of it with Himbo, he has since gained regular bookings back on his home ground of London in the shape and form of Ballistic Beats. Not forgetting that the MC’s a blinder, not forgetting that his prestigious lady is now expecting the first of the NEW GENERATION of the future breed….!

Where to start, where to start!?? -

First off good to speak today - we here congratulations are in order! How’s it going now Charlie HTID and yourself will soon be accompanied by the patter of tiny feet?…!;)

"Yea absolutely buzzing mate!!! It wasn’t at all expected but believe me when I say the lil one will be hardcore haha!!"

Down to the crunch - (NOT The credit!) Taking us back to last year, and you were very busy with various studio projects and likewise D.J Sets! Why was it that you hadn’t played out on the decks sooner to when you first did!?

"Well a lot of people learn to mix before they produce and I wanted to do it the other way round and try getting my stuff out there before I got myself out there. I have always said its all about the music and not the DJ”



Even though it was a while ago now- how did your debut set at Chemical Generation go with the legendary Himbo!?

"Well has to be said….Himbo is my little buttercup haha!! Na the guy is a pure talent and to play out with him on my first set was banging. We have played a few more sets together since then and its always been enjoyable!"

Your production has earned you a valuable place in the hardcore scene, and you can also produce, other genres such as club sounds and also ambient, we see today the talents of Al Storm move over to the Rave Breaks sounds- would you ever consider or try your hand at this!?

"Well I love producing any genre from Hip Hop to Hardcore , I always have done as well. Plus its good to know how other structures work to bring them into different genre’s. I think it that way it brings new ideas into my production and keeps me trying new things. Although Hardcore is my place to be and always will be through and through!" ;o)



I have seen you play out a fair few times now. You seem to have a top time each & every! Your sets boasting a good variation of the hardcore sound, even gabber at times- do you ever pre plan your D.J sets? Also if you were to choose- Mixing producing or both!?

"I never go with a planned set no! BUT I will have a ruff idea of what kind of things I want to play like any new tracks iv made or had passed to me by other producers. Yea I always try to get a big variety of tracks that’s the way im pretty sure every raver can end up having a good time, every raver likes different styles of hardcore" ;o)

"HAHA!! You have seen my stomping behind the decks! Yea mate of course just because im DJin don’t mean I can’t be having a fucking good time :o) you’ll see even if there are 2 people in front of me mate ill still be stomping behind the decks haha!"



You have played at Ballistic Beats twice now- the Hardcore Underground Launch party being your third!- What do you like about Ballistic Beats and does it feel good playing in your root place of London?

"The guys at Ballistic Beats do a good job and always look after me hence why iv played for their last 2 and now playing the next. Of course im always happy to play in London as that’s where my old “home town is init brudaaaaaaaaaa” haha" ;o)



How are you feeling in the build up to The album launch on the 1st of May!?

"Well as always I just can’t wait to get up and have it!!"



Will you have any exclusives that you will be debuting at this event!? (Any that you can tell us about?!)*wink wink

"OooooOOOooooo sneaky sneaky haha!!! OF COURSE!!!!! Iv got loads of new stuff to try out and I always try to have new stuff to keep every set original and different!!!!! You can’t play the same sets every time you play, that would just bore everyone."




You have just had the success and exciting news of your brand spanking new digital label- TRYED N TESTED- Please tell us as much as you can about this!!?- What it's about, what you visualise for the future and beyond!- the WHOLE bundle!;)

"Ok well at the moment im only selling on Imodownloads.com as the site for the label is still under construction and I still have a few more things to sort out but basically the label is for the tracks that don’t get the recognition they deserve! That’s right im talking about all the underground hardcore producers and up comers!"

"I want to take the next step and try to get Tryed N Tested out there as a label that pushes out the future of hardcore with fresh new ideas. So keep your eye out for any of the Tryed N Tested releases as there will be a lot of fresh new talent!!!"



I hosted yourself and Eufion’s back to back set at The Vibes & Livelee birthday party, it was one of my best ever performances and also one of the best sets I have heard too! Are there or is there anyone who you enjoy going back to back with- also if you could pick one headlining name to mix with who would it be?

"Wiked mate!! Well happy you enjoyed it as much as I did!"

"As I said before I always love playing out with Himbo as were good mates and always good to play out with your mates. As for a headliner DJ it would have to be…..Sy without a doubt!! Sy was the first hardcore DJ I ever listened to and I still think the guy knows how to rock a dance floor."

With all this excitement in the wings- can you offer some Hoodzie words of encouragement to the Ballistic Crew to rally them to the dance floor for the 1st of May?!!

"Aint much to be said mate LOOK AT THE FLYER!!! Speaks for itself don’t it. Gona be a long night of stomping hard even for me" ;o)
