A little background about our Hula man Hoopz!!
24-year-old Hoopz plays uplifting and euphoric Hard Trance and Hard House and is also delving into the depths of Nu NRG. He started mixing at the start of January 2004 and by the July he was playing out in clubs: “I’m a energetic and entertaining DJ who knows how to read the crowd. I’m not afraid to try something new and know exactly what sends the crowd into a frenzy being no stranger to the other side of the decks!” 2006 saw his meteoric rise to the decks where he has mesmerized crowds with his unique style and blend of Hard Dance. Whether it is Liverpool or London he is always on top form and leaves destruction and mayhem wherever he plays, leaving the crowd begging for more. Hoopz has the tools to destroy any dance floor whether it is with a well-known anthem or one of his own productions.
Hoopz all-be-it a fledgling producer has already got a few tracks under his belt. His collaboration ‘Definitions’ that he worked on with K Complex was released on the compilation album ‘Elevate – The Next Level’ mixed by Nu Energy head honcho Kev Energy and Tranzlation boss Phil York. It is due for release on Elevate Whites and will also have a remix from Phil York. He has already had success in the studio with production demon K Complex with their track ‘Harmonise’ that’s signed to Nu Energy Recordings. Hoopz has just completed a Bootleg of the trance classic Blank & Jones - Cream and is also working a remix for Trance Guru Lost Witness in readiness for the Slinky Label Launch later this year.
Hoopz is a well sort after DJ and is a resident for the best up and coming night in London, Vinyl Destination that’s held every 2 months at The Mass. He secured his residency after the promoters Matt and Mez saw a set at Freeformation in December 2006 and absolutely loved it. After booking him to close their party in the following March there was no question about giving Hoopz the residency. After meeting Kevin Energy at Tranzmission in 2006 he also became a resident for Hard Dance Internet radio www.harddance.net broadcast most Thursdays from the Nu Energy Collective HQ. He has played alongside the Nu Energy boys and has played a b2b with Cally Gage and is now firmly under the NEC wing.
His energy and attitude have earned him a loyal following up and down the country and he is renowned for being a real crowd pleaser. He has made a real impression playing storming sets at high profile nights like the Contagious Stage at Global Gathering, Nu Religion and Hard South. However it’s the capital that he has been storming, playing at nights like Total Mayhem, Innovate, Polysexual South, Frantic and not forgetting Freeformation and Vinyl Destination. He is also no stranger to the dance floor himself and throughout the last 10 years has been clubbing everywhere from Colours at The Arches in Glasgow and Slinky at The Opera House and from Global Gathering to Creamfields.
The future for Hoopz sees much more focus on the production front and a goal to have his own production album or mix his own compilation. You can expect more cutting edge tunes on a harder Trance tip with dirty, uplifting and energetic bass lines and more euphoric break downs to ensure every raver rushes to the max all the time! He strives to some of the producers in his field for motivation: “I want to be remembered as a Globally renowned DJ! I’ve got lots of ideas to put into place and lots of plans including collaborations with Technikal, Kevin Energy and Greg Brookman.” So look no further for the future of Hard Trance!
