Taking over the fantastic live venue that is the Hare & Hounds in Kings Heath, the ethos is very simple… The worlds biggest DJs playing special DJ sets at your local boozer! Sound good?

Well, it gets even better…Who better to launch this new series than a guy who is quite literally one of the worlds biggest house DJs and a local lad too boot… STEVE LAWLER!

From the early days of illegal raves unders the M42, to his marathon eight hour sets as resident at Ibizian institution Café Mambo, residency for Cream, Global Underground compilations and of course the years he spent making a huge name for himself playing the closing set on the Terrace every Sunday for We Love… at Space Ibiza... Steve has done pretty much done the lot!

More recently his Viva brand has not only evolved into a globe touring club night but also a label that showcases not only Steve’s own productions but gives a leg up to some of the stars of the future like Simon Baker, Audiofly and Bearweasel.

His recent productions like “21st Century Ketchup” on Ali Dubfire’s Space-Tec label, a runaway success at the 2008 Miami Music Conference and his massive remix of X Press 2’s “Music Xpress” prove that after 18 years of pioneering, Steve is still at the cutting edge of house music.

Steve truly is a DJ that travels the world over, his current DJ diary takes in dates in Italy, Greece, Moscow, Romania and of course Space Ibiza.. now HABIT give you an amazing opportunity to witness the man in the intimate surroundings of the HARE & HOUNDS, Kings Heath, Birmingham!

An old Victoria pub that was given a new lease of life two years ago, is now a truly underground live music and club venue that has recently experienced sets from Andrew Weatherall, Basement Jaxx, Giles Peterson and regular appearances from Norman Jay… now add Steve Lawler to that list and “A NIGHT AT THE LOCAL” is very exciting new concept indeed!
