DIG - looking for DJs
New night in London, based at Canal 125 near Kings Cross.

We're looking for DJ's who play good house music, including:

- Funky
- Electro
- Progressive
- Tribal

We DON'T want the following:

- Minimal
- Tech
- Techno
- Fidget
- Bassline
- Hard House/Trance/Hardcore

Our first two parties have been fantastic, everyone has been well up for it and atmosphere has been electric. The party is held on the first Friday of every month.

Unfortunately we're not offering anything in the way of payment - the night is totally free and at the moment we're not earning a penny out of it. I realise that this is a bit rubbish, but I know that people enjoy playing out and so hope that (for now) that'll be enough for you.

If you'd like to come and play for us, bring a mix CD to the next event listed below. We won't be accepting mixes any other way, so please don't post any links to mixes on here. If you do that I'll assume that you're an idiot who can't read.

Look forward to seeing you.

Don't you think that by turning up with a CD you're showing that you're commited and ready to support the night?

It's not a ploy to get people to turn up. If you're a decent DJ and you give us a good mix CD, then you'll get booked.

Simple.

Well depends how serious you guys are, us guys that are 'good' Dj's are often too busy.

Just a thought.

"Hi Guys, I operate under the name of ‘DAN WARB’ as seriously dedicated DJ with over 13 yrs experience in the scene"

For someone who won't even bring a mix CD to a bar in London you're not very fucking dedicated mate.

Just to let you know that i have played along side Rob and his brother. They are top, bone fide guys and really honest chaps. They are serious promoters and i would recommend anyone to go and chat with them. They aren't like alot of promoters out there, they are loyal people.

wub (noun)

Wake Up Boner. Also referred to as morning wood, woody or simply a boner, this unique brand of wood rises with the sun or at least rises to greet the sun. It is the unfortunate person who awakes to a wub alone. Although Ms Michigan is an excellent wub rubber outer...it is the fortunate son that wakes up with a wub and a wub rubber next to them (also known as a wenchlet) who is an expert at working the knots out.

I don't like what's being implied here

Guys Ill pop up to the night and give you a cd. its the weekend after I move to London from Manchester so looking to network and try new things as Im having to give up my beloved sankeys, only I play prog and techno. Bit of blagging for ya but my last release under CO2 - Oxygene is on Carl Cox's - Dance Valley compilation.

Hilarious that someone could be so pissy about coming down on the night to something that's free entry! Must be really hard-up...

I'll be coming down to say hello and will have a demo CD in hand, guys.

Not that this makes any difference as I can't stand the music - but nights that 'insist' DJs turn up to give in CDs piss me off. If I had to go to every night night I wanted to play at, it would cost me a fortune not only in entrance fee's, but also in fuel.

Thats an utterly stupid way of recruiting and doesn't show any support in the slightest as the DJs wouldn't be there if it wasn't for the chance they might get to play. If you want to do that - give the sets to your local boys who come each week without fail. If you want DJs that travel, the odds are that they will have better things to do.

The real support comes when you book someone and they show up with 10 paying mates and stay the whole night - not when they just come down to give you a CD. You're kidding yourselves
