To be honest , nobody knows the real reason !
The Situation in Berlin is like a big " Kindergarten " sometimes !
All i know is that the old Members of the Love Parade Agency was fired by the new owner , nobody knows how he wants to manage a Parade without a competent Staff !
But anyway , the B-Parade got the permission now and we all looking forward ...

I am absolutely gobsmacked!!! What the hell is happening here????
And apparently the so called B-Parade already has permit to stage the event for the years 2008 to 2011 as well....there is something seriously wrong here, I mean no way is this gonna become as good as the Loveparade...I mean the organisers of the B-Parade were already staging this event parallel to the Loveparade and hardly anybody took notice of it!

So why turn down the Loveparade AG and about 3 million of sponsorship money and give the Parade to some other organisers? For me this is a total farce, but since I live in Berlin i am going to check it out anyway...but I think many people are going to be very sceptic about this!

Let´s see how it`s gonna turn out!

I wonder if the B-Parade costs money to get into or something similar?

The guy who organises the floats etc also organises the Christopher Street Day in Berlin, which takes place in June every year. The B-Parade is another organisation that is now trying to host the parade, same route, just a different organisation in charge! Planned are a maximum of 55 floats.
The event starts at 12:00 at the angel, the trucks start at 14:00 (2 lanes of trucks like usual) and go on until 18:00
The music will go onto around 23:30 at the angel....
I think most of the planning (DJs, trucks etc) is still to be done, as the go-ahead was only just given by the city council! So I think we will have to wait a while before more details are confirmed!
I just hope this is not gonna be one big mess, ha ha! Like every year it will be a big surprise if it´s gonna take place and how it´s gonna be! So let´s keep fingers crossed all will turn out well!!!
The guy who owns the McFit chain also owns the Loveparade AG and apparently they made a big loss last year and this year they could have got the go ahead but it is being said, that they didn´t hand in all the neccessary papers...so yes, the Loveparade is dead, but the Berlin Dance Parade is born, attempting to stage a big successful event...floats, electronic music of all kinds (House, Electro, Techno, Hardstyle, Drum & Bass) is probably gonna be played on the floats.
And I doubt it will cost to get in, ha ha! People would climb the fences for sure! All the costs are to be covered by the organisers who try to raise the money via sponsorship etc.
And everyone (clubs, DJs, party organisers) who want to run a float have to pay around 3.000 Euro I think.

errmmmm...

me and my girlfriend are looking to visit Berlin for a week in July - should I go to this???
Or avoid it???

Never been to Berlin and want to get a good look around it and go out clubbing a few times... Does the city get too busy when this is on? OR is it definately worth re-scheduling my dates so we catch this?

What music will it be????

i think they should have donation boxes to be honest. yes its always been free in the past, but whats a euro to most of the 500,000+ people who turn up.

it would help no end in covering costs

as for avoiding it, i wouldnt avoid it at all. they city comes alive that weekend with outdoor parties, pubs and clubs holding small but wikkid events (joes bar in zoogarten is a favourite) and generally every one is up for having a good time

if u decide to go book early and choose where u wana stay carefully

My head is spinning!!!

Can't believe LP isn't happeneing...well actually I can, it won't ever be the same, its lost what it used to be, evolution happens not for the right reasons though.

Think for those who want to go to see how it works out, go along and see what Berlin has to offer, have had many great years there in July, but for me I think I'll not be there this year.

Hi Kitty , i´m a little bit sad about that you think like that !
This is my point of view :
The Love Parade wasn´t the same since it moved from Ku Damm to Tiergarten and also lost the "Spirit" when big Companys start to pay millions ...
but nobody cares about it because it was a big successfull Party for free and everyone had a blast ,
at the Afterpartys as well !
Now , only the name has changed , it was the same concept , same route , same music , same people
and probably more "Spirit" then at the last 5 Love Parades !
So , let´s looking forward ... ( and excuse my english *g* )

Greetings from Berlin , Jordan !

Jordan....something wasn't there for both me and Col last year, I dunno it just didn't feel the same. Thats not to say we have never had great times there because we have, and we have also made some great friends ;o)

But I need a break this year and go back to it another time, myself and Col will 100% be there to visit you Jordan sometime this year, Col is working hard in his new job, but we do have plans to visit Berlin this year.

Do you have plans for Lovebase this year? Are you touring in Holland again?
