does any body else think clubbing has become too cool?
i've come to the decision that clubbing...and clubbers are far too cool now. it's all about listening to the "right" music and dressing a certain way. it's made clubbing serious and boring. what happened to wearing proper cyber?

and not giving a fuck? and what was life like BEFORE KETAMINE?! what happened to being bouncy and silly and having fun in a club?

Clubbing (ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzz) or "RAVIN'!"

An Important Question to Think About!

So the question is "What is RAVE?" So I'll ask that question again, so what is Rave? Perhaps you're now thinking? Good, about time, now a lot of people are thinking about the Negative Side, why? The answer is because they have read about Rave(s) in the comics they call Newspapers (Tabloids) or seen some bits on the television or somewhere? Now about you, yourself, have you ever been to a Rave? Perhaps you've been "CLUBBING", well, that's not a "Rave" where you go outside or stay inside the Club and see someone "Ruining Someone's Night", what do I mean? Fighting, Punching, and Kicking into another Human Being, nah, that's being Bloody-Stupid, playing the Fool, Idiot? No, that isn't a Rave at all!

Now, About Me:-
I got introduced into the "Rave-Scene" in 1990, where some very good friends took me to one, at a Disused Airfield in Oxfordshire, (I was living in Wiltshire then) that was the time when Raves were Illegal, Banned by the Last Government which were Conservative. Yes, I know that sounds like a joke, but it wasn't, Rave-Music wasn't played by Radio 1, was it? There was me, at 30 years old, worried sick about what I was letting myself into, worried because I'd read things in the Tabloids, seen things on the News on my television! My mates found out about this Rave by someone ringing him up to give him the Place and the Directions first on a Friday evening, so we travelled in a car, from Wiltshire into Oxfordshire, not too far away from RAF Brize Norton. On the way there we bypassed some Police Roadblocks, then found a Convoy of Cars, so my mate who was driving said "We're Close - -" or something and we became part of that convoy.

Travelling in that convoy through some county lanes we got there, parked up in a field next to the Disused-Airfield and we walked over to the Rave. I was shocked, it was FREE to enter! All we did was put £1.00 each into a bucket as a donation! (If they charged money, the DJ's running it would have got ARRESTED!) So we walked into the Rave, there was some huge Marquees (tents), generators running outside each of them, powering the Amplifiers, Turntables (yes 100% Vinyl), and Speakers, such sounds from "Shut Up & Dance", "Altern 8", "N-Joy", "Bizzare Inc", Digital Orgasm and many more DJ's (Old Skool Rave as it's termed now) were playing from the turntables. There was Too-Many People there on that airfield to count, 1000's of People who were there for the "Sound!"

Now a Rave wasn't a Rave unless "Blockbusters by Skin Up" was played, and whoever the DJ was, he Mixed it with Thriller by Michael Jackson and that sounded Awesome (for the time, ha ha), naah seriously, could you mix those 2 tracks? Well, that weekend had converted me 100% for ever-more, when we left during the "Sunday Evening". During the time the rave lasted, the Police had entered "Freely", they found No-Fighting, No-Trouble, and left seeing No-Problems at all, so not one person was detained or arrested, thank you Oxfordshire Constabulary! During that weekend I met people who were genuinely friendly, warm and nice to know, they all shared One Common Thing, which was "The Noise", "The Dance" and "The Vibes", and they all chatted with me with a genuine welcome in their hearts. To see all of those people still dancing in daylight was something awesome!

So I was converted into the Rave-Scene "Big-Time", so Joanna (my Ex-Wife) and I, with our trusted friends (Dr Pancreas, & Gomez) started to go to a Weekly Rave at a local Nightclub called: Golddiggers (in Chippenham, Wiltshire) and so it continued!

Here's a link: fantazia.org.uk to a Web-Site about Golddiggers!

The last Rave I had gone to (I'm 50 years old now) was to The Metro Weekender / SouthWestFour, in the centre of: Cardiff, Wales, (where I had introduced Nina, my 20 year old Daughter to the Rave-Scene) on Sunday 26th August 2007, (that started at 11am and finished at 11pm)! During the 12 hours there, we saw, "Paul Van Dyke", "Sasha", "Roger Sanchez", "Eric Prydz", "Marco V", "Eddie Halliwell", "Sander Van Doorn", "Lisa Lashes" and a few more DJ's!

Oh yes, that cost me £25.00 each, for my daughter and myself, (not £1.00) and a lot more for the Ravers who bought their tickets on the day! Again, I met a lot of genuinely friendly, happy people (who are around 1/2 my age) who wasn't there to cause trouble or ruin someone else's day! To be honest, I hope I will be at the same Rave in Cardiff this year (2008) knowing the Rave-Scene isn't DEAD!

Anyhow I could continue and write a novel here, but I will not, so I'll finish, enough said!

Hah I hope this has Made YOU ALL "THINK!! - - - COMMENTS PLEASE?????
