This Forum is for all those who shared a passion for / were involved with, the London & M25 raves in 1989. This site isn't about the origination of the rave scene, frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn. For me at least, '89 wasn't all about the Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, Shoom, Boys Own or Danny Rampling. It was all about Detroit computer music, otherwise known as Techno & Stateside House. It was about uplifting Italian piano riffs and Balearic guitars, not forgetting our own UK produce from the likes of KLF, Orbital and Leftfield... and Euro inports such as Westbam and Belgium Beat. It was all about running across muddy fields towards the lazers and lights with the police hot on our heels, it was about the people; the attitude, or rather, lack of... the dressing down, the 'curtain hairdo', the floppy hats and hippy enthnic clothing, not to mention the Converse baseball boots, Naf Naf, Wallabee shoes, and the scent of Bodyshop Dewberry perfume floating all around the warehouse ... to mention a few...
