We first saw Mini Da Minx at the infamous Boys Vs Girls breaks
collaboration with her event Chix in Da Mix and other breakbeat
night Social at Camden’s Lockside Lounge. She really knows how
to pick apart a crowd and turn the heat on the dancefloor. We
can’t wait for her to headline upstairs with our residents in an
eclectic mash up stylee! Here’s a quick profile and latest set for

What have you been up to today?

I went for a couple of hours to the college where I am doing a CAE
course, which will help me become a certified translator in few years.
I got hit on by 17 year olds (always good confidence boost;) and
listened to some promos then worked on a plan on how to conquer
the world - that involves preparing big all day party in June at the
moment and now off to work.

Where you from?

I am originally from the Czech Republic, half Russian though, so
I don't recommend to f*ck around;) Before London I lived in Cape
Town, South Africa, for 4 years, which is like my second home now.
It's all get a bit confusing sometimes.

Where d’you live?

I've been living in Kennington since I moved to London,
right across the road from the Kennington Park.

What do you like most about London?

The vast choice, countless possibilities and colourful multiculturalism.

What where you listening to as a kid jumping around in your bedroom?

I hope you won’t hold this against me … Michael Jackson, Madonna, and
Vanilla Ice. When I discovered The Prince my world spun around. By the
time I was a teen, I was surprised to discover early Papua New Guinea
and Felix. They changed my life.

Hot tunes to look out for this summer?

Three of my good friends finished an album - anything from Diverted,
Drumattic Twins and Flore will be hot this summer! There’s also some
exciting releases on Sokolov and last but not least- Behold, by Digital
Base is ripping the roof off.

What was your first vinyl?

ome Bootsy Collins bootleg (if I don't count The Thriller;)

What’s new from you for 2009?

I have started to tamper with music production last year, so making my own
tunes is very exciting! Watch out for my demo on myspace.

Where can we catch you after Never Grow Up?

On Saturday the 20th of June, me and Richie Balboa are preparing another
all day back to back event in Lockside Lounge. We’ve been running it
for three years and it's been one of the most pleasant things to do as a
promoter as the atmosphere on the night is so friendly and relaxed. I will
be spinning there too, along side Peter Paul and another 11 excellent girl
and boy DJs. There are also a few exciting gigs coming up - the 24th of July
I’m playing a live gig with one of my oldest best friends in Czech Republic;
it's a DJ, bongo, electric violin and saxophone combination. The DJ is the
leading element -Olmeca Live Sessions on the beach (lake beach, there are
no seas in Czech) in Mlekojedy, near Prague. The Day after that I will be
making an appearance in one of the Czech's largest independent festivals,
and I may be playing this year on the Trashcity stage at Glastonbury Festival.
