karting
Our first event will be indoor karting just outside Leamington Spa.

For those of us who don't live in or near Leaminton Spa, we're planning on staying for night, so we can all have a few drinks afterwards to toast the winner/winning team and take the mickey out of the loosers ;)

Details still have to be confirmed, but the karting should cost no more than £25pp.

We're yet to confirm a date (even though I've added it as an event)

This event will be ticketed, and you will be able to buy your tickets on DSI. But you must arrange your own accommodation, although I shall be suggesting places after speaking to our friends from Leamington Spa!

I'll keep you posted with more details.

This event is open to your friends too, please feel free to invite people who might like to join us.

Lots of Love
Celshaw

lemington itself is ok to go out in, depending on what you are looking for

Trust me, it really isn't great.

The only decent club in Leam is Smack,

I'm not even gonna ask what the drug of choice is in that joint...

Maybe it's beacuse for me its just the same old, same old. I've been going to the clubs and pubs in the town since I was 16 and you see the same faces - most of whom you rather you didn't. It depends what people are after. It's fine if they just want a big piss up and a dance to any old cheese but for a decent stomp/rave/dance then you need to go further afield.

It's fair to say that if you want cutting edge clubbing Leamington is probably not the place to go to. However, it's entirely possible to sit in a decent bar drinking until 3am or so, with a DJ playing (Mumbai Bluu).

Its abpout karting and meeting up, so I dont think the nightlife has to be focused on too much and complicate everything. As Iain says as long as we can go for drinks etc. Perhaps we can arrange something else in the capital clubbing wise and make that a clubbing meet up.

If people are happy with a piss up in Leam after the Karting then that's all good for me. My place is five mins walk from bars/clubs.

Yeah, I don't think it needs to be anything more than a few drinks. It's an event meet up about Karting, not clubbing or pubbing.

Agreed. I think a series of meet ups based around different events and activites is the best idea. Like those "best of.." trips around different music genres and towns we were talking about before.

Well we've got people who are into all sorts of scenes, it makes sense to go on a tour of the best of each. For instance you might not like Hardcore but if you only ever go to one party I'd suggest Freeformation, as the atmosphere is leagues ahead of nearly every other party I've ever been too. Last year, for House music I would have suggested Throb. Basically the parties that really really stand out for us as the best of what we know. I think it would be great fun to see everybody together at those kind of events.

Well variety is the spice of life, so Im up for anything to have the experience. So yeah a tour sounds great to me, shall we arranbge it bi- monthly or quarterly or something, and make it a rule that where we go has to be different to the last?

* Of course when I say Im up for anything Alex, I perhaps dont mean it the way you would ;) x

Quarterly could work, but its often hard to fit things around everyone's diaries, plus the point is to see the best of whats around so really it should be based around when the events come up rather than anything else.

That's never been a problem before so don't worry your little head.
