This Saturday morning 12th January, Gareth Emery will be taking control of BBC Radio 1's hallowed Essential Mix, broadcasting two hours of the unique Emery sound to the world. This really is essential listening and a culmination of years of hard work by Gareth – after all it’s not often these days you see a ‘trance’ DJ fill that much sought-after slot! Remember, if you miss it you can listen to it online throughout next week whenever you like.

This is not the only reason Gareth Emery is celebrating in these early months of 2008 however, as his pioneering podcast show is fast approaching its 50th edition. With many top DJs only just starting to latch onto the podcast format, Gareth was one of the first, and in doing so has built up a worldwide fanbase that sees him draw adoring crowds wherever he spins on the globe!

Therefore, his Five AM team decided to do something a bit special to celebrate. So, rather than simply knocking out an extended episode, they have decided to throw a super-exclusive party at a top London venue, get Gareth and two of Holland's hottest exports to play, then broadcast the whole thing for the 50th episode a few weeks later.

This intimate event, held at Islington’s classy Electrowerkz club, sees Gareth return to home turf after his globe-trotting DJing exploits and the launch of the FIVE AM LIVE concept. Joining Gareth will be Dutch stars Menno de Jong, who has fast made a name for himself with his uplifting trance style and highly talented Amsterdam progressive duo Fine Taste, who caught the ears of the big names in dance with some quality productions last year. Handpicked to compliment the sound of the main man himself, awesome electronic music is guaranteed and if you a fan of the podcast, this is a night not to be missed! If you have been in attendance at the FIVE AM nights at Turnmills, you’ll be aware these guys know how to throw a party and this promises to beat that, with bigger sound, superior lights and more extravagant decor, as well as recording sets and videos to be broadcast on The Gareth Emery Podcast the following week.
