Where to start?! Apologies in advance for the length of this message, but its the end of an era and warranted a special review i think...

I know my Licked co-promoters Rob and Drew will be adding their own comments, but i just wanted to say a massive "thank you" to everyone for our amazing last ever Turnmills LICKED event @ Smartie Partie on sat nite. Most of u know already, but i started working with the guys exactly a year ago this month, Feb 2007 - my first SP! Such lovely guys, i knew back then that we would end up working together in the long run, but i couldnt have imagined what a year we would have!

LICKED was conceived in June 2007 and launched a month later at the July 2007 SP. With Trace and Claire giving us the platform (in the awesome Juno room), i'd like to think its been through sheer hard work that we have come as far as we have in the last 7 months. We couldnt have done it without Mr & Mrs SP and their support - and i'm so chuffed we got to host LICKED there one final time before the legendary Turnmills closes its doors for good next month.

I really dont know where to start in trying to talk about Saturday's party! To begin with, have to say a massive well done to Licked co-promoter and fellow dj ROB LOCO, for his work with the decor. He always works so hard and the room was hands down the best ive ever seen it - cant wait to see all the piccies! Our other co-promoter DREW HARDING dislocated his knee in the run-up to Licked, but not only did we manage to get him there (it was possible he might not have made it), but him and Rob played the closing set at our last ever party - and a wicked job they did too - am so chuffed u made it after all Drew, u really deserved it mate.

We tried to pick our djs carefully and make sure we nailed the last party music-wise, the idea always being to gradually build the night bit by bit. So i'd like to say a huge "thank you and well done!" to all our DJs! The Tucker brothers got things started perfectly for us and as always, the room was real busy from the offset. CADENCE then took over and picked up perfectly from where the Tuckers left off. It was really hard to fault any of the djs - Marky Sparks rocked it, as did James Wilkinson and above all else, it was so nice to have such wicked guys all playing our last party. We felt it would be appropriate to have the LICKED crew finishing the night off on the decks - so i played the second to last set (thanks everyone, i really had a lotta fun!) and then Drew & Rob played the night out - thats easily the busiest ive ever seen that room at 5am when the lights came on! Unreal.

Thanks to our dancers, our pr girl, our girlfriends (for putting up with our stressing in the run up to all events!), my sis Cri, and Kev, Eoin, Rory, matt (the guy with THOSE socks), Seb etc who all helped us set up the room Sat daytime and also who crucially helped us pack down once the room shut - we cant tell you how much it helps! And dont forget Giulietta and katy kate, who dressed up as Licked cheerleaders, u looked fab girls! A special thank you to the clubbers (Licked crowd and SP's) who made our last night the most special party we've done so far - i say it every time, but u guys rock! The biggest thanks has to go to Trace and Claire for their continued support and Rob and Drew and everyone associated with Licked (Sarah.Bryn, Sp4eva, kate etc etc) for all that you do for us. Steve - your laser looked the bollox yet again mate, awesome!

As you all know or would have seen, we had a film crew shooting our room all night. The idea was simply to record what will surely be one of the most special nights we have done at Turnmills for SP - that footage will be sentimentally priceless to us and i'm soooo looking forward to seeing it. Jon/Carl, thank you guys for your efforts and am sure we will work together soon :)

So its time to say "GOODBYE TURNMILLS" from the LICKED crew. I'm a beleiver in fate and despite being sad about leaving this amazing venue, its not the end for Licked...its just the beginning. Thank you Smartie Partie, onwards and upwards Licked lovers. What a night.

TOAST: thank u buddy, that really is good to hear. All 3 of us (myself, Drew and Rob) are all DJs as well as promoters, but deep at heart we are clubbers through and through. We all work so hard coz we love it! Rob hit it on the head above when he said its for nights like Saturday that we put ourselves through all the stess and sleepless nights. Licked has only been going 7-8 months and we try to improve every time - its just wicked to hear u speaking from a dj/promoter/clubber point of view, coz it means we are doimng something right - thank u mate! You should have come and introduced yourself toast - i thought i had seen u towards the back of the room at one point, but when u havent met someone who u know off dsi, u can never be sure if u have the right person! Next time mate... ;)

Guys and girls I cannot say how amazing you all are - simply we wouldn't be do it without you and your continual support. Everyone has already commented on how amazing the night was and it's purely down to every single person that has been involved in any way shape or form.......

credit were it is due and all... i know the hard works and stress that goes on with promotion... the sleepless nights flyering all over, the internet based promotion, the stress with DJ's, organisation, cancelations, gettin club kitted in decor and all the other bits and bobs the clubber doesnt get to see!!!

when a nite like sat falls into place like it did for ya YES its one of them moments were ya have to take a big breath and a step back and take it all in and just enjoy, easier said than done at times, the reward was clear to see from the smiles on the DJ's and Clubbers faces on sat nite, like ya say its moments like these that keep driving us thru the thick and thin of the promotion roller coaster, these moments are the focus and keep us pushin in one direction and thats to try make each one betterin some small way!!!

i nearly popped up to the front BUT the DJ side of me kicked in as there can be nothin worse than someone tryin to come say hi even with the best intentions its not always the ideal time to do so!!! i had some bloke who wouldnt leave me alone whilst i played on sat and there is only soo much bein nice to peeps that we can put up with, luckily his mate thought he was wearin thin on me and had a word thanks to who ever he was!!!

yes that was me at the back of the room for most of the nite with the Lowestoft crew in tow!!! i had plenty of those "ya so and so of DSI" moments lol its hard to keep track of everyone, there will no doubt be a next time and will make sure i come say hi to all the family, like i say really enjoyed ya show!!! i will be back to check ya Licked nite out again soon, maybe even send ya a demo for some Jackin Beats and do a warm up for ya hehehe......???

MARKY: mate, so glad u enjoyed your set mate, we loved it - u deserved it after doing so well for us at your bday last August in Anexo. James Wilkinson, wherever he is - he was the same, had done real well for us in a 'trial' set in Anexo in Dec i think, and he also deserved a shot in Juno before Licked had to say goodbye to the amazing JUNO ROOM - our SPiritual home without a doubt. When i look back theres just nothing i would change about the night - apart from doubling the number of hours to give some more DJs a chance to play for us one last time in the LICKED room!

MR. MARCHANT: haha, i'm looking forward to seeing the footage now chief!!!! All those memories gona come flooding back...

ZAK: thank u for the kind words mate - and ur sooooo right about the crowd being responsive. From start to finish, 10pm-5am they just went for it and we love 'em to bits!!! Musically it went exactly as we hoped, with each set notching it up a level as the night went on...until the grand finale. Was proper emotional when the last tune was on,what a wet blanket! ;)

STEVE: yr laser show was the nuts, as always mate. And dont forget Drew when you say special mention to Jay & Rob - all 3 of us worked real hard to pull off sat nite. I cant stop flashing back to the nite too. It just goes to show how bucy it was, coz Steve and I just didnt get a chance to chat all evening! it was just too busy to contemplate trying to get from one side of the room to the other! Thanks for yr help mate, roll on the future...

i can honestly say that this was my first LICKED event but it will not be my last! it was SOOO GOOD x Jason Chance was the nuts! The crowd were bouncing off the walls and the set was second to none x my friends were in a different room and i went and dragged them all into the LICKED room for a listen and we all ended up staying there for the rest of the night x there was such a good buzz and the crowd were having such a great time x can't wait til the next SP x

'Licked' - Onwards and Upwards..... We sent Turnmills off in style, now on to new adventures... Watch this space!!! Exciting times ahead!!!

CRI: thank u for your help big sis! u and amy helped bigtime with the buses and keeping a tab on all our lot - thank u so much! And sorry u had to stand out in the cold while we waited to try and sneak back into the club so we could get the decor out - was BLOODY cold wasnt it? Any help is always much appreciated by us and u were great! Inigo should be a doddle after this!

EOIN: love our name "bringer of beats" - haha! mate u've also been there from the start and u belong up on that stage next to us when we're djing - we love seeing u rev up the clubbers. One of my fave bits of the night:

There's a break in one of my tunes and as it breaks, Eoin shouts out to all the clubbers in Juno "Am i the only fucking raver in here tonight, or what???!!!" Haha - priceless. Needless to say, they all went ballistic! Mr. mascot, we salute you.

APG - all i can say is you were back where you belong mate! one of the family!

TOAST - maybe we'll see u up lowestoft way sometime mate? i know u know mr barham, who is from that way....hopefully catch u around and defo stay in touch mate! keep up the good work and thanks for all the support!

SASSY SUE - thats what we like to hear! Your first LICKED event and we've made a good impression, perfect! i met so many new people on sat and they were all lovely...we'll look forward to catching up with u at SP's farewell to turnmills - that is defo gonna be a big one, we cant wait! Appologies to join the discussion so late but just wanna say what a pleasure it was playing to THAT crowd in THAT room! Loved every minute of it and had a great night! Room looked amazing, felt amazing and was amazing!! Everyone was so up for it and loving every tune that was played from the start......quite a few different styles across the whole night but think thats what made it so good and bullt so well. Well done to everyone @ Licked for making it what it has become over the last year and thanks to the lads involved (Mr. Chance, Rob and Drew) for getting me involved in what was a superb night and look forward to hopefully working with you again.........oh and was cool to meet the other dj's on the night.....excellent job one and all!

It was good to have you along James!!! Always enjoy your set's mate!!!
