Above & Beyond in Portsmouth!!?
I checked on the A&B website a few weeks ago and checked the tour dates. It said Slinky, Bournemouth, Opera House (o2) in Decemeber.

Now it has changed to Portsmouth!!!!????? WHY!? please don't say your going back to Liquid! :(

I thought it said 'ocean'

Yeah I did see that, but just gathered they meant Oceana.

In 2010 Slinky will be holding a total of 9 events, 3 @ The O2 Academy, 3 @ Liquid in Portsmouth and 3 @ Oceana in Southampton....You were all asking for more Slinky events so we have listened so I hope this is met by your approval.

Sounds good, just don't have them the same weekends as Slammin' events!!

well said lee

all slinky regulars appreciate the update including me;)

although i agree liquid is not really a great venue but shall be there none the less as its on my door step.

selling advanced tickets to such big events will keep most of the beer f**k heads from attending but unforunately some will get thru but you do get the lager louts at the opera house so proper clubbers will just have to make do & grin and bear the louts who are in a minority.

roll on 2010 for Slinky ;)

agreed. No idea why people always moan about "the people who go to that club on OTHER nights". If it's a Slinky night then the club will contain Slinky crowd. The crowd that go on other nights are not some kind of furniture that actually LIVE in the venue!

I just don't understand why you would want to go to a commercial club full of beer boys!?

Partly answered your own question there mate ;)

Commercial club needs money and to do that means sales at the bar - This comment is in no way related to Slinky, it is just common business sense for anyone running a venue that serves alcohol.

No it was all fine there from what I remember apart from two things. The venue has no soul and the sound was substandard.
You sure gave us some fantastic nights Lee with the likes of Randy Katana, Sander van Doorn and Marcel Woods playing alongside yourself.

Having Above & Beyond on my door step is awesome! Whoop! Whoop!

30th Birthday clubbing celebration Part 2? I think so! :)

the sound was substandard.
And the only reason it was like that was because it was done all wrong. From what I remember the technique was simply "build a big pile of F1 at the front", when it should have been "integrate a moderate pile of F1 at the front with all the EXISTING equipment in the venue". That's why it was only loud at the front and the rest of the room was full of muddy bass and nasty reverberations and standing waves.

(end sound engineer speech)

Exactly, not a place for Slinky's stature.

Its true this venue does seem a bit naff, having been to other commercial liquids in kent, but hey ho.... look on the positives.....
1. Above and Beyond are playing
2. Drinks should be relatively sleep
3. Its a slinky night - surely that brings with some of the friendliest crowds around, and if not A&B/trance followers, again friendliest crowd around??

I saw A&B play in Ministry last month, and they blew me away as usual, plus there set seemed to have a different feel to it, they really surprised :) Look out for a man with light gloves on the 4th and come say hi
much luv

I guess you mean cheap m8? Nah they are through the roof. Unless they change the prices a little due to Slinky being in town. Oh well, when is the next Opera house date!? lol
