i thought it was good, staff will need time to settle and get them selves organised but thats to be expected, as for the chavs theres bound to be a minority in any club and i didnt think there was that many, just look at other local clubs in northamptonshire and they are full of them. Ive been clubbing all over the country for the past 10 years and there are alot worse places that hype themselves up

I'm sorry you didn't have a great night but if you were a bit more constructive and said why it was "rubbish" - maybe we could do address your comments...

~ Then when you come back next time, hopefully it will be brilliant and you can say you had a wicked night!!!

it depends what you were drinking I suppose, bottles were about £3.50 which is reasonable. I didn't order any shots or wine or anything so I wouldn't know about that...

There were a few teething issues on the first night which are being looked at before this Sat's visit from Seamus Haji.

As for the crowd it was really odd mix but then it was the first night and we have been handing out flyers all over the place in the weeks beforehand - you can't always be sure that you are hitting the target market!! Hopefully now we're up and running we can establish our "crowd" and things will settle down.

sorry to dispel that but the area the club is situated in thats what you are going to get, after all it is in walking distance from irthlingborough rushden and higham (not all people from there are chavs!). i know it was your first nite, but a few things

decor-sorry but it was a bit let down by two lazers and a vid screen.it did look still like a conference room, drapes or anything would have changed the place, after walking up the stairs you would of expected something a bit diff to some chairs along the side and high stools and tables.

Iding on the door-you had lot of underage people in the venue some of 16 sorry but that aint the way to go (talkin as a doorman that was in there after i had finished work)

i am all for new nites round here as we dont have that many anymore

Hit the nail on the head there Sal ! Ya still tryin 2 establish ya crowd and a 1st nite is always gonna be a mish mash. 2 b honest tho I had a great nite although it seemed that about 4am every1 had had enuff including DJ's (yawning behind decks !!) Not knocking ya but it had the feel of a wedding reception simply bcause u couldnt hide the fact that it was a function room.
Get rid of carpet in main room ya cant dance on it !!
Get some drapes up on walls an ceilings to give it that club vibe (the crowd will do the rest)
Maybe couple of small stages either side of DJ booth for peeps 2 dance on, split levels do wonders for crowd boostin !
Security seemed fair enuff although my m8 went out 4 a ciggie bout 4.30 an was refused entry back in !!

After reading this thread, it's kinda what i expected this club to be like. I haven't been yet so i might be competley suprised when i do.
What makes a good club? .......for me, most importantly you need decent music and good friendly atmosphere. There is nothing worse than having a club with 4 rooms of confilcting genres. Whilst it's good to have a choice, the rooms should be appealing to everyone. Ie. one week go for hard house in one room, hardcore in another, dirty electro in another etc. Then another week have the RnB in one, soul in another, rap in another. This way the crowd can relate to the other genres and get the most out of thier night rather than sticking to one room. I feel clubs like this are friendlier and people can be who they want to be on the same level. This would also control the amount of chavs you get in. Once a month have a clubland/ scouse house kinda night. This will attract the chavs and keep them happy. The thought for them being surround by proper ravers with uv make up and cool outfits should in theory put them off. You're always gonna get them, but you can control when they come to a point.
Something that really bugs me about new clubs is the atmosphere seems to be non existent, this can only be built over time. But carpet dancefloor?? Thats not gonna help. Venues with a bit more history to them do make you feel more welcome.
I think the club has been put in quite a good location. You're not collecting the drunks that just walk in off the high street. I reckon over time the crowd will get better with people only coming who really want to be there.
As for the drink prices, well what you don't pay on the door you pay in your drinks, for a new club you need people through the door, too high admission no one will bother to check it out. I hate having to pay over the odds for drink, but i think £3.50 a bottle is what you should expect in a club these days. Maybe something to look to change in the future, raising addmision and knocking a bit off the drink or even selected drinks.
The staff a new, so they will need time to settle down.
Hey, i'm no expert in this game but to be sucsessfull you need to learn off sucsessfull clubs.
Clubs like Air(Birmingham), Emporium(Coalville) and the Opera house(Bournmouth). I know it's probably easier and less risk to go down the Luminar Leisure route, but i think that Northamptonsire could really do with a proper club.
Sorry for going on, i don't normally write so much, but i'm very passionate about clubbing and with Gatecrasher one burning down and Slinky leaving the opera house, i get the feeling some of the best clubs are dying out, and we need to start making some more.
Thankyou, Kev.
