Get Free Entry to the Last UG @ Uniq this Friday!
Urban Gorilla - June 8th - Last UG @ Uniq!

And so the time is almost upon us when URBAN GORILLA once again ups sticks and moves on to pastures new, but before we leave the lovely little ravebox named UNIQ, we’re gonna have one last knees up and we’re inviting the first 100 of you to sign up here to join us for free!!!!!

Tonight we’re letting our own, slightly more disheveled but equally as super Fantastic Four out of their cages for a residents’ mashup to end all mashups, as they twist myriad styles and their own faces in order to make you lot dance.
Let’s remind ourselves of the UG selectas…

One time pirate, ADAM CONNAL began his Djing career on his local radio station, the Peter Kay endorsed Chorley FM. Unfortunately he took the station’s tagline a bit too far and was sacked for indecent conduct. He hid away in a basement studio like a modern day Phantom of the Opera emerging years later, horribly disfigured but amazingly talented on the decks and various other gadgets he brings along with him. Yes, young Adam has finally found a more subtle way of pleasing a crowd’s ears - and we love it!

ALAN CHAPMAN’s grandma is the famous American Singer/Songwriter, Tracy Chapman. And just like his Gran, Alan’s love of music is matched only by his love of cheeseburgers. He regularly causes dancefloor carnage with his awesome sets before disappearing off to the nearest drive-thru for a well deserved triple whopper.

Sneaky JONNY TOWSEND ensured his big break with a DJ spot at UG by kidnapping all of Sheffield’s DJs and keeping them in a Guantanamo Bay style compound he made in his bedroom with toilet roll tubes and sticky tape. Of course the DJs quickly escaped but not before Jonny had surprised us all by proving that he does actually have some serious Djing talent. Come see for youself.

if this friday is the last UG at Uniq, does this mean that there will be no more UG until the end of september when it relaunches at Zero/Plug?

BUG at DQ will still be running and we may do 1 or 2 one-off events over the summer, but apart from that this will be the last regular full Urban Gorilla till September.

Not sure to be honest. I've had my head in the sand for the last couple of months. I heard mention of DQ though.
